JoAnn- I am so sorry to hear about the insurance issues. Some of my pre-op was quickly covered and only others after I was approved for surgery. I know some people do a good bit of the pre-op in Brazil where it is much cheaper. There is also a LapDS surgeon in Brazil but I do not remember his name. Check to see if there will be any new policies next year to change too. {{{{Hugs}}} on getting this news. Kim

Just a follow up, the only comorbidities I have are: I have been diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea (O2 level of 66% and 61 events per hour) and I am on three medications with a cardiologist for high blood pressure. I was screened for diabetes several years ago at my request, but there was no concern at the time. I have always felt blessed that I have so few problems considering my size . . . hopefully that won't now work against me. Thanks for your replies.

sure hope you have cipap or bi bap, by comparison a ephysemic is at a level of concern at 85% o2 level, at the levels you discribe you might need o2 with cipap. My gastrologist, before doing a edg held off for a consistent 96% o2 and i was 92% percent when he started.

Okay, you lost me at ephysemic and by edg, I was thoroughly confused. Yes, I'm on a BiPAP at pressure of 17/13. When I titrated on that combination with the humidifier, my level didn't get below 98%.
