She responded to a post the other day but that's all I've seen.

You hang in there Drena. And ask for a lawyer -- before you say or do anything else. Take care of yourself. You are in my prayers. Red

Drena, this isn't going to help in any practical sense, but ... Just know that after making some stupid mistakes of my own as a wildly impoverished and deeply clinically depressed grad student some 10+ years ago, I'm still digging out from under. And I'm saying that as a form of encouragement: I'm paying back debts that I never should have incurred in the first place, but I'm no longer waiting for that scary knock at the door or phone call. I'm living life with my head held high after years of worry, stress, and shame ... and that will happen for you, too, I promise. Good thoughts headed your way! You can to go now to the public defenders office, get a leg up on the situation, and arrange for surrender immeadeately before the arraignment and perhaps miss the whole arrest proceedure, and confinement, not aware of any particulars except this post, but if a promise of arrest it cant be all that bad, it can be managed.

I'm praying that as a first offense you'll pay restitution and maybe get some community service? Perhaps the judge would also order credit counseling, but that may be helpful in the long run. The "arrest" is the first things in a chain of events that need to happen to resolve this. After that, you can get your public defender and set to putting things right. Hold your head up and take it one day at a time. Have you called anyone regarding counseling?
