One more hurdle to go...
...I think! Endoscopy tomorrow is the last of my pre-op testing to be done. All information has been faxed and received by MD's office (mamogram, pap, blood, cardio, pulmonary function, PCP clearence)...Please pray endo is good. I had H-Pylori tested through the blood work and it came up negative, so I'm not anticipating any ulcers. The only testing that I'm still peeved about is my HgbA1C is still a stinking 7.2! After watching my diet and 65 units of insulin plus 2 orals a day...the insulin is not lasting as long as it should and I'm spiking in the mornings and late afternoons (I take it at 7am and 7pm). I know it is not working because I wake up with a dry mouth and thristy and get really tired and thirsty in the late afternoons. I refuse a pump, I want to get rid of the diabetes once and for all. (Still feisty...)
Good luck! My HgbA1C is totally out of control -- but remember, that's one of the major reasons you're GETTING this surgery in the first place!!!
Hang in there ...

My approach would be to get the pump if indicated and insurance buys, the thing about diabetes is the silent damage done now, nueropthy doent go away, and the damage done now will be come evident much later. so treat the diabeates agressively now, and all going well in a month throw the pump away, but do damage now by delaying treatment is not a GOOD thing. im going to check my sugar now.
Has the doctor suggested anything to help with that? I know your surgery is only three weeks away, but what can you do in the meantime?
I had my preliminary appt with the endo guy today, and then am actually going in to get scoped on the 2nd. That's the last of my tests, too.
At least we only have about 21 days left to go, eh?
