Ok, a political thing, but only sort of.
Wolf Blitzer received an email from Benazir Bhuto back in October about her future death. Her requirements were to only make it public after she died. Well, he is talking about the letter now.
I can honestly say I never put myself into the middle of the Pakistani government or their politics. However, I have seen some of her interviews and how she grew up in a political family who appeared to be trying to bring democracy to Pakistan.
All I can say is when I heard of her death, I did cry. I cried for her and her family, then I cried for ours in the US. This has given the U.S. (or some in the US) a reason to "move" our troops into another venue. If you are a prayerful person and haven't lately, now would probably be a good time to do so.

You've said huge mouthful right there. I can't spell the dood's name, but Amadidajahn (sp????) is one "still hanging on the tree" ripe fruit loop. I never gave much credence to the Nostradamus stuff, but he did predict a rise from the Persian area as the end all war starter. I'm very concerned about 2008.
We need to come home and be prepared to save our country right now. Just my lil' ol' opinion, folks.
Glad to see you post, Jay.
Ugh, how long does he have before he can retire or be discharged? Everyone with military men and women have nothing but my admiration, respect, and definite prayers.
I have so many of my employees who are sending their sons (like Debby) to the "war". It chills me to the bone to think of their daily fear, but then I give them so much admiration because they show pride. Very very little have I heard any of them say anything about fear. I believe they just have to pack that away somewhere and tell themselves their kids will be fine. Me? I don't know if I would be sane by the time my person (if I had one) came home for over seas. But, I'm a nut job anyway.
((hugs)) tell the squid to get goin' on that sperm donorship!

I have a very good friend who is originally from Pakistan. Even before Bhutto got killed, it was a complicated mess. My friend, who is not really political, explained it like this.
Option 1:
Bhutto Family - democratically elected, but incredibly corrupt. Think Edwin Edwards when he was running Louisiana. With the corruption, people fear the country might fall into Option 3.
Option 2:
Musharraff and the Army - not freely elected, but not nearly as corrupt. Good at keeping the peace so people can go along with their lives. Of course, the price of stability is giving up your freedom
Option 3:
The Religious Wackjobs - think Taliban. The "middle" and "upper" class are terrified of them taking over by force (possible) or by election (think Hamas in the Palestinian Territory.)
Alas - I suspect the Wackjobs are going to eventually take over and Pakistan already has the bomb.
