Hi Everyone!
I live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I am a 44 y.o. woman. I work from home so I have very limited interaction with others, which can be isolating and well, a bit depressing. I miss the social interaction of an office setting but I do not miss the commute - so it's a trade-off, I guess. I just recently discovered this site and I have to say I am really loving it - the information and support are just great. I am still researching which surgical procedure I want and still researching physicians in Mexico since my insurance excludes bariatric surgery. I would love to connect and talk to others or if anyone lives in my area, perhaps a walking buddy or something like that. I used to have several penpals in various countries around the world growing up through college years (this was pre-internet) and I miss those days. Getting a letter from another country far away was so exciting! Those days might be gone but I am hoping penpals via email can be as enjoyable - twitter, facebook, instant messaging just are not the same as a chatty letter or email.

Hi! Thanks so much for responding to my post! I was wondering do u mind if we use email to correspond? ....I check that way more often and I use my iPhone so it can be difficult to post on here sometimes. If that's okay with u my email is [email protected]. I completely understand what you mean with your family. My mom never did that but once my grandma said right in front of a boyfriend you better watch that weight...boys don't like fat girls. My other grandma would flat out tell me I was fat when I was little. I know my weight issue is very much a mental thing. I know what to do and what to eat but I seem to destroy every effort I make eventually. I am in the weight wise program here in Edmonton ....so I sm hoping to have my sleeve by the end of the year. We will see though...I'm just ready to get on with my life and shed this weight to be able to be the person I know I am on the inside. I'm tired of feeling akward and tires. I just want to have fun with my girls! Speaking of them I have to get going but j hope to hear from u soon !

I'm in the Vancouver area...I'm pretty much the same as you...I'm 33, mom of twin 4 year old girls, stay at home mom. I've never been a "normal" weight and can remember my relatives putting me on the scale and talked about me (in german) but I knew what they were saying wasn't good....I must have been 7. I'm ready for the efforts that I have always made to diet and fitness, actually work with the help of the gastric sleeve. I'm thinking about going to Mexico. Hope to hear from you :D

Im Carla, I am 10 years out from RNY and have lost 150 pounds. I am mom to Liz who is 30 and just got married. she has no children yet. I cant wait for her to be a mom so I can be a grandma!!!!!
But I am practicing being a grandma to my cousins 3 children so i keep busy!!!!!

I am 10 yrs out and live in Bradenton florida. I believe all test are good for 30 days. Carla I had my surgery in Colorado. I am maintaining a 150 weight loss. I also had plastics a year out.
Started out at 267 but my hightest weight was 285. I am hovering around 136. now.
