Topic: RE: Scared, need someone to talk to
I am not sure if you had your surgery yet or not, so good luck if you have not. My biggest advice, is you have to do this for your self. I am getting ready for a revision, turns out my first did not heal correctly. I still say it changed my life all for the best, even with gainin most of it back. I learned to love to exercise, and miss it when i can't. learned how to eat better, and love, love the taste of vegetables that I never tried before, and not needing to have meat and potatoes all the time, like i was raised on. I had sme family support, and some not. My own mother tried to support me, but she is also overweight, and it seemed like she was happy when i was failing, because i was not doing better then her. I learned how to tune that out, and only take the positive. I was able to do things with my daughter who was 6, that I could not do before, and my health improved. no more cpap machine and other things.  My rny, was my first surgery ever, and they took my gallbladder at the same time. You will do great :) You will need at least one person around to help you after, you do have to learn to let that person, help alot at first. For me it was my husband. You cannot push too hard too fast, and let your body heal. And its nice to walk with someone. Good luck and if you ever need to chat, look me up :)

Topic: RE: PCOS Pre-Op and getting nervous...anyone out there? :)
Hi, I also have PCOS. I had surgery back in 2003, and am having a revision, soon, i will find out by the end of the week when. Turns out my original did not heal right.
I can tell you that friend foods, make me dump, and that things with too much sugar, and sometimes fat do as well. I know you may not like getting sick and hurting, but once something makes you dump, you never look at it the same again. I would love to get to know you, and take this journey again, with you. I hope that your surgery goes well :) I am an open book, so if you have questions, just ask :)

Topic: RE: Nc girl looking for a Pen Pal~from anywhere
Hi :) I live in Indiana, and am getting ready to find out my surgery date for a revision. My first surgery in 2003 did not heal right, and took this long for them to figure it out. I have always wanted a pal on here, or just friends, to be able to chat with. I also just recently started a group on facebook for bariatric patients, along with the admin of the support group i go affiliated with the Hospital I am having my surgery at. So if that would interest you, feel free to ask me about it.
I have a lot of knowledge to share, and always love to learn new things. I have a 14 year old daughter, who was 6 when I had my surgery the first time.
I hope to chat with you soon. I will send you a friendship add as well :)

Hi,  I am new to this website and new to weight loss surgery.  I have gastric bypass on 1/30 of this year.  I thought about it for one year and had many discussions with my primary care physican before committing to the surgery and myself. I am still adjusting to trying to get to know my body and am getting stronger every day.  Today I even organized the closet in my bedroom which was not an easy task.  I am so glad I have had this surgery.  It has not been an easy road, but once I fully committed myself there was no turning back.  In the first three weeks I have lost 16 lbs. and my blood pressure is better.  I am walking every day and have a pep in my step that I have not had in years. I think if you do some soul searching you will determine if this is right for you- and if so go for it!!!
