Topic: Jacksonville Support Group Meetings
I used to have a list of all the support group meetings that took place in the Jacksonville area but have not kept up with that information so I thought I'd ask for your help.
I have a support group meeting that's held once a month (when my family is in good health.....mother has not been doing well).
I recall a meeting that Dr. Marema (St. Augustine) held here over on San Jose Blvd., a meeting held at the Mandarin Library (one meeting on Kori Road and another on San Jose Blvd. at that library), a meeting held at Dr. Cywes' office off Southside Blvd., a meeting held by Dr. Herrerra's office (at St. Vincent's in Riverside), and a meeting held thru Dr. Webb's office.
Now, can anybody tell me anything about any of those meetings as to whether or not they're still meeting, when, where, what time and whether or not the meetings are open to patients outside the particular doctor's practice.
I appreciate any input. Hopefully I can get a current list so I can keep my group informed of where other meetings are being held so that when I can't schedule a meeting for whatever reason, they'll have another meeting to attend.....or a meeting in addition to our.

Congratulations Sandy! You have made the best decision of your life, and you have chose the best surgeon. Dr. Jawad performed my surgery on 8/18/10 and to date I have lost 102 lbs.
Dr. Jawad also has a support group, we meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6PM at West Marion Community Hospital. So next Thursday is our meeting, I hope you can attend.

There are NO DS surgeons in Florida. I went to Dr. Marchesini in Brazil for my surgery (I was a revision from an RNY to the DS). Good Luck!

i moved here about 6 months ago. I had my RNY 4/07 and over the last year gained back 30 pounds. Has anyone heard of the schleratherapy procedure? does it work.

I went to dsfacts.com and there wasn't even a listing for Florida so I am guessing we are out of luck. :(

I am in the process of trying to get approved for this surgery, again, and I need to be prepared for when the happy news comes (keeping a positive attitude here.) I can't find ANY DS surgeon in the Naples/Ft. Myers area. Does anyone know of one? How about Miami/Ft. Lauderdale? I can always drive across the alley for this surgery if I have to but I would rather be closer to home. TIA.
