I'm 1 month post-op, over 55lbs down so far... although I had a lot to start with :)
Does anyone attend any support groups in the marietta area? I attend the monthly meetings at North Side Hospital on 2nd Thursdays of the month. Was wondering if anyone has good experiences elsewhere.

What is the normal "down time" following this type of surgery?
HW 240/ SW 229/ GW 146/CW 125; OH Support Group Leader
Starting size: 18W-20; Present size: 0 or 2; 5'5-1/2" tall.
Current BMI 20.4 as of 2/13/2013 (normal for the first time in my life).
Goal weight reached on 8/12/2010; As of 1/13/2013, 21 pounds below goal

its good to here there are some more people in our area... yay. i also would love to know if anyone hears anything... even if its in Cartersville with gas prices so high Apheretta is a bit to far for me.. boy do i need the group tho ... Good luck with your surgery Brenda

I too am from Dallas. I am 2 days away from my surgery and I'm ready to get on with it! :o) I've been attending a support group but it is in Alpharetta! I work in Atlanta so I just go straight from work. I've also attended one at Northside Hospital but it (to me) was more like a seminar than a support group. I am not at all opposed to attending one here locally! If you two hear of anything near Dallas, please let me know!

I'm sooo sorry for your complications....If I had the sick days to donate I surely would. I guess all you can do is keep the faith and know that around here there will not be "any I told ya so" around here
