to plant this spring and its going to be a real struggle to get them in.

Another Connecticut person here.
This year I plan on doing alot with Russian Sage, I love
the look and scent of it. It truely is a tough perennial.
This past season I planted quite a few varieties of the branching sunflowers and I will grow them again this year.
I also have alot of daylillies and I have used many butterfly bushes (budliea) in my landscape. I love 'em!
Scott, I have a cottage in Old Lyme, perhaps we can meet.

Scott,
I think you would be ok with the hemlock.
I have a cottage in Old Lyme, perhaps we can hook up
some day?

I was thinking of hemlock shrubs but am afraid the deer might eat them. Blue spruce would repel deer but are tough to work around. Anyone with any ideas.

Gales Ferry is a subsection of Ledyard. I am between the two casinos and perhaps 6-8 miles from the sound. I like the room idea because it is very overwhelming.

Oh April
Trust me it will come! You will just never believe all that you can get done in a day outside with the help of a couple of SF popsicles!!!

Scott Where is Gales Falls? I grew up in Milford down on the sound. Connecticut has gotton so very very expensive.
When we bought our propery here it was an overgrown nightmare. But over the past 7 years we have worked away at it.
I found that by dividing it into "rooms" you can actually complete a project without feeling so very overwhelmed.

One of my biggest surprises is the energy. Even though it is freezing out and spring is not very close, I have gotten the bug. I have been clearing land and burning brush. I can work all day with no problem. It is great
