Can anyone explain 4am blood draws?  Seriously?  I was sooooo good and asleep!  SO I took a couple laps, peed and am blogging.  How am I supposed to go to sleep now????

I get to go home today!  Yippee!

That's just crazy that they wake you up to draw blood. But at least you get to come home today. Then you can catch up on some sleep. I'm glad you are doing well.

LOL, I get asked this question all the time.  It is so that they can have the lab results by the time the doctor comes to the hospital to round.  They need that information to make treatment decisions and the earlier those decisions can be made, the better for the patient.  Especially if it involves critical medications or the patient being released.

There is a method to the madness, I promise.  They are not intentionally making you an insomniac.

I remember I woke up every half hour and was awakened many times over the course of the two nights and I was pissed >:O nevermind my veins were playing hide and seek and so like three people came in and poked the sh*t out of my arms and made me cry.
