Hubby and I dont drink alcohol and ride...water for me and diet Dr Pepper for him. We have cruised with friends that have had a few beers and havent had any problems. I personally dont have a problem if someone else has been drinking, we just choose not to. Ride Safe, Bonnie

What is your personal policy on drinking and riding. Are you more careful about dinking when you are on your bike than when you are in a car? Is it something you don't think about? I have noticed that every bike get together I go to, there is at least beer vendors if not liquor also, heck most are held at bars. I personally watch my alcohol intake a lot closer when I'm on the bike. Yesterday I went to an event, I was there at least four hours, only had two drinks and waited at least an hour after the last drink to ride. I would not have been that conservative if I was in my truck. Will you ride with someone who has had more to drink than you, if they are on another bike? I was speaking to a frined about this and his policy is, once someone starts drinking he won't ride any further with him. My thoughts are if we go some where and you have had a few drinks and we need to head back home, and you insist on riding; I'll ride with you, if for no other reason than to call the ambulance in case you have that accident.

Hi Chloe, You can also check with some of your local Harley dealers to see if they offer the official H-D sponsored program called Riders Edge. It's an awesome program or new riders and for those looking to improve their skills. You learn on a 495cc Buell Blast. While it is more expensive than most MSF courses, it is truly a different experience and is really an entire package, so it's worth it. More than 40% of the Riders Edge graduates are women. In fact, check with your local Harley dealer because often times they have programs geared toward women on the care and maintenance of bikes, fashion, etc. The more you know, the more comfortable you will be. I have been riding for over 6 years and it is truly exhilerating. I can't wait to finally look as good as I feel riding my bike. When I wear leathers, I want to feel sexy, not like the cow who owned the hide before me. Right now I'm still waiting for insurance approval but by this time next year I hope to be a brand new me, and maybe a brand new bike (preferrably the Dyna Street Bob). I hope you pursue your dream, you won't regret it! The amount of attention your get as a woman rider is priceless!!

Jill It would be good to get together and ride. I wanted to ride some today but I didnt want all the crap on the road on my bike. What do you ride? I am headed to Daytona for a week for bike week in March. We ride most every weekend and I assume we will again this year. I sell real estate so I have some spare time and ride during the week as well. Maybe we can hook up then also.

Hi, Steve I didn't realize you road a harley! We met at the VA WLS Friends Winter Conference! My husband and I ride too! This afternoon I rode for about 2 hours.
