I went on a pretty regular basis before and right after surgery but since then I have moved 2 hours away from the hospital, and the hospital where I work has them but invariably Im working when they have the meetings so I havent been in a while.

Thankfully, I haven't experienced anything like that, and I hope I never do. I have heard some real horror stories lately from people who are going through that.

Yes, I attend a small (under 15 people) post-op support group at Tufts, where I had my surgery. We were asked to make a one-year commitment to the group, but can attend for as long after that as we like. I'm still in my committed year, but I do plan to continue going for as long as I can because I get a lot out of that one. I also attend 2 other groups that are local to me, and I may start going to a 3rd one right down the street from my house. For the same reasons as you, I go to get support and also to provide support. I've developed some friendships at the groups, and I like to go just to see those people too.

Does anyone experience Blood Sugar issues? If so, what are you doing for it?
I experience them at least twice a week and it usually comes if I have eaten something high in carbs. I chase it with some dense protein and avoid sugar to keep it from happening. My lowest is a 29. I now carry a blood sugar monitor and test when I get the feeling of crashing.

Sorry A little late in the day. I forgot today was my day.....
Do you attend support groups for your surgery why or why not?
I do every month if I can make it when my schedule allows. I think I learn something evrytime I go and I think I have something to offer those who are in the process or have recently had the surgery.

I try to do chicken and cottage cheese. IF there is nothing, then I cheat or go hungry.

I don't know that there was a realization moment... it just sort of snuck up on me... even now, I have to remind myself sometimes that other people aren't seeing the MO me - and many don't know I was ever MO.

I usually have a packet of peanuts in my tote bag, so if it's really bad, I'll eat those... otherwise, like everyone else, I make do with what's available.

I don't remember when they were, but I'm on my third stall. And I haven't had time with school to go to the gym, so I know when I finally do get there, I'll start to lose again. I'm almost at goal though, too, kinda. I've heard a lot of people stall near goal.

I just do the best I can with what's available. I try to be as good as I can be.
