Hey Sherri, when did you say your consult with Dr. Bergman was? Just wondering. I have a consult with Dr. Grassee on July 31st. I know I'm not quite ready yet, but I want to get some pricing information so I can figure out how to get the $$$. I'm excited. I don't know what to expect though. Never done anything like this in my life! Can anyone tell me about their plastics consults? Linda Vicory

Linda, My consult was in the same office with Dr. Bergman. After they know what type of procedure you are lookign for your watch a couple of DVD's on them and then the Dr. comes in to talk to you. She is very interested in all your medical history and what your expectations are for plastics. She spent a ton of time with me and made sure I was comfortable and fully understood the complete procedures and risks. After that you get to put on the famous paper panties and robe and then the Dr. comes and and tells you what can be done with your body. Pictures are taken and then you are done. Pictures are used for your before and for insurance if you are planning on getting it approved. Mine was. I applied for a care credit loan for the amount I owe and it is a 12 month interest free loan for the surgery. Totally awesome!  check it out at www.carecredit.com The Dr. staff will give you estimates on what the cost will be on the different procedures  you are interested in and what discounts you can get with multiple surgeries. I was totally pleased and am now looking forward to the new me....I am scheduled 2 weeks from today! Nervous and excited!! Definatly a new adventure on this fantastic journey. I think you will like the office staff there. I have been really pleased with them so far. I will keep you posted on my after surgery updates. Have a great appointment! Hugs! Marianne

Linda, My consult with Dr. Bergman is July 23rd. We set it up for then because I can't take off of work again with FMLA until ~end of August because of the time I was off with my feet last year. They figured it would take them ~ a month to get things through insurance. I have actually been ready for this for over a year but my darn feet had to come first. Who knows? Maybe this way, we'll be surgery buddies! LOL!

It all depends on what all insurance will/won't pay for on what I'll do about the financing. If I'm left with alot to pay for, I'll it as a medical withdrawal from my 401K. If it's not alot, then I'll probably just use the Care Credit. I was approved for $3K when I had my Lasik...and I have that paid off. Then I was approved for another $4K online when I checked into it for plastics. So...just depends on what Anthem says. See you tomorrow! Sherri

Sherri, I can tell you at your consut they will give your written estimates that are good for 90 days. She basically charges $3800.00 flat for each procedure that she does. If you are a self pay, they give you a 10% discount on any other procedure after the first one when done together. Typically if your insurance pays for a panni, they will allow $1000.00 toward a full tummy tuck. I know my insurance will be paying about $1700.00 so they will just refund me the difference after my surgery when they get the insurance payment. If I had been a total self pay, for a full tummy tuck, breast lift/augmentation with saline implants my cost would have been just under $12,000.00. My insurance will cover a panni and covered the breat lift/augmentation & Implants at 100% so my cost was the difference between the panni and the full tummy tuck with muscle tightening. They figured $3800.00. After my refund I figure I will be paying about $3000.00 for it all so I am really pleased. The 3800.00 includes the extra time for  the facility, compression garmet, Dr. fees, etc. If you upgrade, they prorate your time for surgery and charge accordingly. I paid mine on my care credit plan. I am hoping to see about doing my upper arms around Christmas or after the first of the year.  good Luck on your consult! You will be really pleased. Hugs, Marianne

I'm scheduled for a full tummy tuck with liposuction for conturing and breast lift & augmentation using silicone gel implants.  My total cost for surgeon, hospital, implants, etc. is just over $12K.  It would be $900 less if I went with saline implants or $1800 less if I went with no implants.   A rough estimate is $5K per area of service.  Example: TT 5K, breasts 5K, thighs 5K, arms 5K...you get the idea. Good luck.  It will help to speed things up if you have copies of your most recent labs and a current mamogram.
