Monday morning...Labor Day

Good morning Hoosier friends! Does one say Happy Labor Day?  Well..if got the day off with pay, Happy Labor Day! How's that? I've been up since about 6:30. Don't you hate it when you'd just love to snooze and for what-ever reason, can't??? I did have a plesant surprise this morning! The scales dropped some more! Woo-hoo! I'm at 170 lb now. I really doubt I drop 10 more by the 25th but every pound off helps! It was a busy day yesterday (for a day off). I defrosted the freezer (I wanted to get this done before the 25th), did a big grocery shop, and started dehydrating some veggies (I'm trying deep-frying in canola oil and then putting them in the dehydrator. I'll let you all know how well that works out. Oh...doing the deep-frying to get some canola oil in my diet to raise my Vitamin E & HDL levels).  Today...more veggies! And I'm giving Louie a bath...probably outside this time since he HATES our tub/shower. That ought to burn off some calories! LOL! You all have a good day today! Sherri

Happy Labor Day! I am working as usual.  Just another day to me, nothing out of the ordinary.  Still waiting to get my surgery date.  I had said last week that if I didnt hear something today that I was calling and talking to the office mgr. then I thought crap they wont be in today because of the holiday so now I have to wait till tomorrow.  It is 2 weeks this week since they received my approval letter. I actually went through the idea yesterday that I am just going to cancel all this, maybe it is a sign that I am not suppose to have this surgery. I dont know, maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself.   I am just tired of this waiting.  My vent for the day, I feel a little better.

Jenny, Patience my dear. At least you know that your insurance has approved you. That can often take a few months...and then if they deny you, a few months to battle that. So at least the hard part is done. You are approved! Remember that their office staff, like you or I, have other priorities in their life too. Maybe the office manager was on vacation and if trying hard to play catch-up on everything. She would deserve a vacation too...right? Or maybe she was sick or had a sick kid at home. Ellen was told that there was a nasty flu-bug going around. You just never know. They do  have a life outside of work though....just like us...so it could be something of that nature on why you haven't heard anything back yet. So...relax and know that you have been approved! Call tomorrow if there is a need to have your surgery around a certain date because of work/kids/school so you can let them know your preferences. But try to have some patience..k? For your sake as well as theirs. It does you NO GOOD to get upset over delays. It will happen when it is suppose to happen. Have a good day today! Sherri

It was almost  a month to hear back about my surgery.  I mailed it in on the 10th of jan and when i called on feb 3rd they had just made the decision that day.  I can't imagine your wait will be too much longer.  Just hang in there! I decided that Joey (our lab that escaped for ten days when we got here) needed a bath, too, but he was SO smothered in bug bites I was afraid to do it myself, so off to the groomers he went.  Only I'm not sure they did anything but clip his nails, tie a bandana on him and send him home.  So I won't be taking him back to that petsmart, that's for sure.  The inside of his ears were still dirty,for Pete's sake.  In fact, I just found another tick on him, and he's been indoors since I captured him .  How did I find it petting him when they missed it supposedly combing him?

Hi there! Happy Labor Day! How are you all doing? I'm going to be working today at a Labor Day Sale at Sears. 11am-7pm. Long day, but with the house thing, I can use the money. I got to sleep in until 9am this morning. Then they dogs told me it was time to go out! Sherri... congrats on the continuing weight loss. You just rock! Jenny... try to be patient. Try to remember we all went through this, and did get to the "goal line" - surgery. I don't think anyone on here got scheduled the day they got their letter. Your time will come. 

Happy Labor Day everyone!!!  My day started out really early!!!  I am off today, and had PLANNED to sleep in, but my body wasn't going to allow me to do that today.  I woke up at 5:30 am this morning, and just couldn't go back to sleep!  Oh well, it isn't like my body is used to sleeping much anymore since the kids have been back in school. Speaking of my girls, today we are planning on taking an outing to Patoka Lake.......only about 15 minutes from me.  A friend of mine is joining us, since my DH has to sleep.  He worked until 8 am at the casino this morning, and has to be back at work tonight at 6 pm!  Talk about tiring, but the pay is good. Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.  I am planning on it!

Happy Labor Day everyone!! Boy have I had a BUSY weekend. Friday night I went to the Linkin Park concert with one of my really good friends. My husband went with one of his really good friends. SO I got home from that at like 1 am and then Saturday I was in a karaoke contest in Paragon and WON!!! I was so happy , there were like 30 people and I won... My friend went with me and I went and got my ear tattoo's scheduled. I'm doing that today at 9 o clock. Getting the inside of my ears tattooed the cartlidge. The after we got done scheduling that we went to a bar near our hometown where we went to hi8gh school with some friends and were there until 3 am I got home at 4 30 am and then yesterday I went to the rib fest with her to watch the virgin millionaires and took a nap and todya we're going to the pool and doing NOTHING. I felt like I was teenager again running around all weekend. It was a blast... The scales haven't really moved much but I'm down almost 2 sizes so my body must be shrinking. I'm losing sizes faster now then i did right after surgery when i was losing weight faster.

It sounds like everyone is having a good labor day weekend. and is enjoying themselves. I love three day weekends and can't wait for the next!!! Talk to everyone soon have a great day!! Life is good

Happy Labor Day to all! I'm here by myself right now...hubby is working, so is my oldest son...the other two are with my mom and dad at Patoka Lake camping...but should be home in a few hours... I'm feeling good...starting to really feel like myself again...and losing about a 1/2 lb to a 1lb a day so I can not complain about that at all. :)  I had a good weekend..we had a party here (cook out) on Saturday night, the turn out wasn't so great this year, but it was a wonderful day/evening...the weather was awesome and we all had a nice time...everyone got here around 5pm and left around 11pm...so a nice nice time! well i need to get some things done just thought i'd pop in and say hi....anyone know when the next clothing exchange is going to be? I'm sure I'm going to be in real need of some clothes by the next one... :) i guess that's a good thing! lol ok, have a great day guys!  hugs jen

Morning everyone,    What a day we had yesturday! We got to the IRP at 7am. and then- off to the races!!!! Whew, it was so cool in the am we all wore a jacket, then by 11am. hotter than Hades!!! It got so hot that I had to go down and sit in the shade quite a few times- I did drink ALOT  of water & my protien shakes- but still got heat exhaustion- had to lay back in the car for an hr. with air running full blast, & a cold ,wet headband on. My head was killing me & I had to use my nebuliser several times throughout the night.The smoke was awful- of cousre we aren't that far from the starting line! It could have been the Prednizone also- gosh, that stuff makes me nuts!!! The plus side- my house is sparkling like the "white tornado hit it!!"!!   I Even my SIL "who is a clean freak" said- "Oh Ellen, I love how you've rearranged your house". I do think I'll have to quit going now- & we have done this as out family outing for 7 yrs. Oh well, someone else will enjoy section B-row 18-seat 17!!  We did have our family over on Sat. for a pitch in- & Dana's sisters family joined us. The prognosis for her latest testings for Ovarian Cancer haven't been good- she is on her 4th round of chemo & her levels have been in the 1800's. Keep her in your prayers,please! Anyhoo- it started at 1pm. & by 6 pm. they were eating supper- thank goodness all the left-overs are GONE!!! I made all the "old family favorites" plus quite a few "sugar free" goodies(thanks to reciepes from my buddies here) - never told anyone- but boy, did they go FAST!!!  Today I woke up with the " colon cleanouts" - got that over, did 4 loads of laundry, & nick has been helping me figure out my new cell phone- boy, I'm not a 'teckie" at all- thank goodness he is!!!  Sherri- good luck with the veggie chips- eat those veggies girl!!!! You ROCK- every lb. really does count!!! Darrah- my daughter had the same problem there- put the tick in a bag & took it & her dog back, got a free grooming & re-embursed for the other one- PLUS a apology from the MANAGER- GO TO THE TOP GIRL! Jodi,  Holy cow girl- you've got those "pre-birth' burst going!! It won't be long for you- never did hear about your baby shower- but sounds like you got lots of ideas for Christmas. Happy Labor Day Everyone, Not doing much today. Tried to stay up to watch all of the Nascar Race but fell asleep with 112 laps to go. Which sucks cuz my man won, grrr! Finishing up the last of my organization around the house. Really not that much left to do. See the OB tomorrow and the cancer doc on Wednesday. Oh, Sherri - I'll diffently be stopping by to pick that stuff up. Let Bill know I'll probably be there between 11a to 12:30p. If I'm running late I'll make sure to call and let him know. Ellen, by baby shower was pretty good. I kinda got weepy at the end of it. I just got done with filling out and addressing my Thank You cards and will be mailing them out tomorrow. But thank you so much for the items you mailed to the house. It was so thoughtful of you.
Is it normal to loose a little weight the last few weeks of your pregnancy?? I'm averaging about a pound to a pound and a half loss for the past two weeks and my doc really hasn't said anything so I'm assuming that it's okay. I've only gained a total of 27 lbs for the pregnancy. Everyone has been telling me for the past month if not longer that I don't look as though I'm as far along as I am. I'm not sure if I should take that as a good thing or not? I have one doc saying Quinntin is gonna be born weighing around 5.5 lbs to 6 lbs and another that tells me 7.5 lbs to 8 lbs. I'm not sure who to believe is right. I'm excited tomorrow to find out what time they are gonna do my induction on the 20th, which reminds me - anyone wanna be on the call list in order to post on here when he comes? Oh and before I forget - any news on the next clothing exchange date/time? I only ask because my mom super purged her closets and has a lot of 12/10 items to donate, including business suits/dresses. I'll have a lot of x-large pants and shirts. Anyone notice how long winded I am lately when I post? HAHAHAHAHA Everyone have a relaxing holiday day!! Jodi
