Some great news but a possible complication

Hi everyone sry I havent been on in a while hope everyone is doing well I went to my primary care dr today for weigh in  my surgery was 2-27-07 and today was my 8 month check in

I have lost 200 1/2 pounds

dr is beside himself he is so happy I am getting married on Novemeber 30th 2007 I am so excited I cant wait

its not going to be real fancy we cant afford much just going to the JP then in March we will have a nice get together for all our family and friends. right now I am just trying to find an very inexpensive wedding dress before the big day. it was so cool Mike had my ring sized to a 7 1/2  in high school my class  ring was a size 11 so totally happy now the complication I think I may have so stricture or even a block when I eat it hurts unless its soup or yogurt fluids are fine. but it feels like a huge amount of pressure in my ribs and chest whenever  I eat solids any suggestions? thanks Kathy

Congrats on both the tremendous weight loss and you upcoming wedding the end of Nov.  I can feel your happiness.

I can not help out on your possible complication since I am not familar with Lap Band.  Check it out with your Dr so you can get on top of it.  My prayers are with you.

Kathy, Big congratulations on the weight loss and pending wedding! It sounds like life is  going great for you! As for the pain when eating, I would contact my surgeon's office and see what they think.

SUPER CONGRATS ON THE WEIGHT LOSS THATS AWSOME.  DOES IT FEEL LIKE A SMALL CHILD IS SITTING ON YOUR CHEST . WHEN THAT WAS GOING ON WITH ME AT FIRST I THOUGHT HEART BUT COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS ULCERS AND VERY FIXABLE. CALL YOUR SURGERN AND TELL THEM WHAT IS GOING ON AND SEE IF YOU NEED A SCOPE THAT WILL TELL YOU FOR SURE WHAT IT IS,. DONT BE LIKE ME AND TRY AND WAIT IT OUT. IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

It sounds like you probably have a stricture. Contact your surgeon's office. They will probably set up an endoscopy for you. Bring a driver. They'll put you in la-la land and go down your throat and check things out. If it's a stricture (narrowing of where the intestines are connected to the pouch...stoma...), they'll dilate it back open. If it's an ulcer, they'll put you on meds to take care of it. Since your issue comes after eating and after eating anything more than liquid, I would bet on a stricture. If that is the case, you'll feel 100% better the night of your scope. You may however have to have 1-2 more scopes to ensure that the stoma remains open. Sherri

What size wedding dress do you need?  I don't want to sell mine, but I'd let you borrow it if it would fit.  It is a size 22.

There is no way I could thank you enough I am looking so hard for an dress but cant afford one. everything I have found is 150.00-200.00  his company will be doing layoffs in december (like every year) so I am trying to save money this is one reason we are having a small wedding before the judge right now.  then in the spring we will have a reception for all the friends and family. you can email me at [email protected] thank you again
