Well the appeal letter was sent to the insurance yesterday. My surgeon's office called me today to say well we sent it in yesterday mid afternoon. WTF why was it sent in yesterday when my appointment was Tuesday???? I tell ya this sh*t is really getting old. I have worked for a clinic before and there are plenty of ppl there that could have made copies that day and faxed it in with the letter that was already written for the appeal. ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. Okay I feel better now. Any who I should know more on Tuesday or Wed. Will let you all know more.

Thank's for listening.....

Hang in there! The waiting is the worst part.  I was not patient at all while I was waiting for my date.

Hope you get an approval really soon.

I know it is easy for someone to say hang in there, but we have all played the waiting game in one form or another,I hope your approval comes quickly for you.  Best of luck. ~Dawn~

Julie,

Good luck on the appeal. When I was with MPlan, I was denied also. I appealed and they had me come before an appeal board which consisted of a doctor (a skinny anorexic looking chic!), a nurse, a dietician, and someone from financial. They popped questions at me left & right. They wanted to know why I didn't exercise more. Shoot, at that time I weighed 352 lb so at 5'6", that didn't exactly give me a wealth of energy to draw from. They wound up re-denying me but not based on MY answers..but because they didn't like how my family doctor filled out his paperwork! I switched to Anthem that January and the rest is history.

Anyway, don't be surprised if they set up an appeal hearing for you to go to. If they do, bring a copy of your food/exercise journal and anything else that you think may help. Sometimes with appeals, they'll simply call your doctor and/or surgeon to confirm medical neccesity.

BTW..denied on Tuesday, paperwork sent in on Friday..that really is quicker than alot of doctor offices. It use to take a good week just for me to get a copy of anything from my doctor's office so a few days? Not bad at all really.

Good luck!!

Sherri

Thank you all that gave me great feedback. I was just ranting at the time I posted this. I know that it takes time. I am just very impaitent. And that's something that I have to work on. I posted this on the main board and got some really nasty comment's to my post. I just told them how they made me feel. Anyway Thank's again for the support. I know that it take's time to do all this. It's just that I want it so bad. Well hope to see you all on the loser's side soon.

You guy's are always there for me.

I hope your appeal goes well!  The whole process of getting approved is VERY stressful and time consuming.  I am sorry that the main board wasn't more supportive of you--I would like to think that we all know how hard the process is and can be supportive of each other.  We all have to rant from time to time (God KNOW I did!!) and we depend on each other to help us through these times. Hang in there--it will happen!
