Got my approval!!!

I got my approval yesterday!!!  Now I just have to wait on the call from Clarian Bariatric Center.

I am a little worried because of the scar tissue though, since this will be a revision from a VBG that I had 10 yrs. ago.  Does anyone know if they can tell anything about scar tissue with either a upper GI or an endoscopy? I thought I'd read that they can tell if there is scar tissue, just not sure if they can tell how bad it is.  I have some bloating on my left side and also some tightening in that area.....I thought maybe that it is from the adhesions....but am not sure.   I realize that anytime you have surgery, that you're more than likely going to have adhesions.  I probably have some on the right side also, since I had my gallbladder out 26 yrs. ago....if feels tight in that area too at times. Anyway, I'm on my way, finally!!! Candy

It's been a long time since I started this journey.  I had to go to my PCP for 18 months and then the insurance still didn't approve it.  A few weeks after they denied it they sent me some info on doing a bunch of stuff for a 6 month program - going to PCP 3 times; seeing dietician 6 times; seeing Psychologist 3 times & taking a test; and going to a 12 week therapy group. The last 6 months have been worth it, I think, but I'm glad that it is finally over. Thanks again!!! Candy

Terri, Thank you so much.  It looks like we will get our surgeries before MPlan runs out......yeah!!! I still haven't heard from the Bariatric Center yet, though.  I know that the guy was out of the office last week and I assume he was this Monday too.  I also tried to e-mail my dietician because she knows how to get a hold of this Pat Custer who called me and was also trying to get a hold of Doug at the Bariatric Center.  She didn't e-mail me back.....I don't know if she stayed home again or what.....she had minor surgery and was out of her office all last wee****il last Friday.  I'm beginning to wonder if I'm supposed to have this surgery since I've had so much trouble getting everything done.

Hi Candy, Oh! That is such great news. Please keep me posted on everything. I had my nut'l class on Tuesday. Now all I have to do and pass is the pre-op testing on next Tuesday. Then all I have to do is wait. It will start moving for you too. I have my fingers crossed. Terri
