how long.....

on average: from submitting to insurance to getting an answer?? from being approved to having surgery??

This varies widely depending on many factors, including what insurance you have, if you have all the information the insurance requires upon your initial submission, etc.  I have Anthem and it took 10 days from when Dr. Cacucci's office submitted the paperwork to Anthem until I knew I was approved.  It took about one more week for me to get my surgery date and I will be having my surgery on December 18th, which is about 6 weeks from when I got my surgery date.  Now, to be fair, I could have had my surgery about three weeks earlier, but opted not to due to work scheduling. You should check with your insurance to see what response time they have--I know Anthem is required to give a response within 15 days of the info being submitted.
