I went for my pre-test on the 21st of Nov.  I got news I need to go back to ST. V's tomorrow because my cardio test came back a little abnormal. I ask "how little abnormal are we talking." She told me I would have to ask on Friday. So now I go to the Heart St. V's. My computers been down so I've been kind of lost without all of your guy's advise. Has anyone ever had to go though this? Heather at Dr. Jones office told me it's nothing to worry about. RIGHT! My date is on the 7th.  Kind of pushing it. Terri

Hi Terri, I hope it's nothing serious.  I have to have all of my tests next Thurs. at 7:15am......you might know....have to drive from Kokomo and I'm NOT an early morning person.

I was wondering that when I have my Upper GI if they'll find out that I am not having a problem with my ring or staples from my earlier surgery and not do mine.  Dr. Huse says that usually if someone gains weight back after VBG then it's because the ring has stretched and/or staples have come out.  When I had an endoscopy within the last couple of years the only thing I was told then was stitches were coming out around the ring....I don't know if that's a problem or not. I'm sorry I don't know anything about the heart abnormality, but I hope it's not anything too serious....did they just do an EKG or something else?  I didn't think it'd take that long to find out something from that test.  I know they're going to do an EKG when I go in.

I'll pray that it is nothing to worry about and that you will have your surgery on time.   Hugs, Candy

Hi Terri, I wish you all the best on your appt. at St. V's.  When do you have to go in there? (I'll probably see on your message when it is, but my memory isn't good all of the time.....oldtimer's disease....lol) I definitely don't look forward to the tests. Keep me posted on your cardio stuff. Candy

I'd like to think that if there was something that looked seriously wrong, they'd have told you to see the cardiologist, not just schedule another test.  Probably some "blip" on the EKG and they'll do a stress test to make sure it's nothing.  Happens all the time.  Good luck!

I worked in a medical clinic for 6 years and I really do not believe that the retesting has anything to do with making money.  I think it may have to more to do with the litigious nature of today's society.  Doctor's feel that they have to cover their butts to a ridiculous degree because if a lawyer can find ANYTHING slightly questionable, the doctor would be a risk of malpractice suits.  But also, I think that testing is because the doctors really want the best for us and want to make sure that we come through the surgery fine. I am sure the testing will turn out okay--I would be nervous too though--good luck and keep us informed about what happens!

I have no advice or anything I just wanted to tell you I'll pray for ya and echo that if it was something real serious they would have told you to follow up a lot sooner if not put you in the hospital. I think Dr Jones is just being very thorough to make sure that you're going to be A OK.

Same exact thing happened to me. So, they sent me to a cardiologist who was wonderful and I not only had a stress test but a nuclear stress test and I was fine. They said my heart was working well. the cardiologist told me that sometimes an EKG can come back abnormal depending on where they place the leads. (they things they stick on you) This did not impact my surgery date at all. They let me know that day exactly what was going on.
