Pre-op & Post-op kits

Does anybody have any experience w/ the Pre-op/Post-op kits recommended by Alvin, Dr. McEwen's Dietician or any other dieticians or doctors for pre & post surgery? I went on www.lapbandindiana.com to get the prices, & they're a little bit expensive.  Does anybody recommend these?  Do the insurance companies pick this up?  Are there cheaper alternatives?  Thank you for any help!
