Monday Thread

Good morning everyone! I had such a good time chatting with some of you ladies last night! Kelly..how's it going today? Jana...the 19th is one day closer! Yea!! Ulisha..I still wish you had been my respritory tech! LaChelle, Pamela, Megan, Misty...and who am I forgetting??? Anyway, ladies, I really did enjoy that. I'm keeping my laptop set up in the livingroom so I can check every evening to see if anyone is chatting! At least I can keep my wound-vac plugged in & charging and keep my darn foot propped up in there. I can't here in our computer room. Yep, still having problems with my left foot swelling up. I can be up for 30 minutes and it is like a balloon! I have noticed that it's not too bad if Im' standing as opposed to sitting without it propped up or if I have shoes on. It wasn't bad at all when we got home Saturday. But today? The ankle is already puffy. Strange! And it's only the left foot..and with no pain, tingling, or anything else. Yep, the docs and the visiting nurses all know about it. Ah well. Oh..I just got the call. The visiting nurse will be here between 11 & 12...so...I got about an hour to jump in the shower. The skin isn't liking this tape on my belly at all that they have to use for the wound-vac in order to get a good seal. They are usng a skin prep to try to protect the skin some but on one part, that isn't even fazing the reaction. Oh well, hopefully the doc's office will call and they'll just close me up soon! LOL! No, it wouldn't be soon enough for me but I can always wish, huh? My sil had to go to the ER yesterday (Tiffany's husband). His left leg & back has kinda been aching the past few days. Yesterday, pain shot through that whole side of his body along with tingling of his arm & leg. They were at work so they went to St. Francis since that was closest. They did xrays, a cat scan, 10 tubes of blood, and urine analysis. Nothing. He has to call a nuerologist today to get a MRI & an ultrasound ordered. The ER doc said it may be a blood clot blocking the blood supply to that side of his body. Scary! They told him to start taking 2 asprins a day to try to thin the blood out some while he's waiting to get these other tests done. I feel for him. I really feel for Tiffany. After almost losing me, that poor kid really didn't need someone else she cares about going through anything medical. Please keep both of them in your thoughts and prayers. Well..I better get ready for my shower. You all have a good day today. I have to run to the store afterwhile to pick up a few things but other than that, maybe I'll try to get some wrapping done today.  huggs... Sherri

Holiday Greeting this Beautiful Monday Morning!

I finally just made myself stay home and get caught up around the house this past weekend. I had so much to do and have had little time to get it all done :o) I spent a day adn ahalf just getting my holiday decorating all done! We had about 9 or 10 huge tubs of holiday decorations which I had to pack up 9-10 of current things in my house to make way for the decorations...whew!! really alot ot do along with the deep cleaning....but.....it is soooooo worth it! The house looks so pretty and festive! Even my husband Mr. Scrooge said the house looks Wonderful! I love the holidays and really liek ot get into the spirit of things. You all have a fabulous day! Happy Monday!! I wish this rain would quit already!!!!!!! I'm just plum tired and didn't sleep very well last night but thats typical. I really enjoyed chatting with y'all last night. That was fun! We should plan to do that on a weekly basis or something. Hope y'all have a good day I'm going to take a nap

I know this is off topic but Im hoping someone can help me.  Our furnace isnt working and we have run out of firewood at the Knightstown house.  Its freezing cold here.  Does anyone know where I can get some firewood.  Willing to pay for it just dont know where I can find some????

Good afternoon all. I swear, I didn't just get up!!!! I have done some things around the house and read some too. I find it easier to get on the computer when DH leaves for work which is around 1:15 p.m. Sometimes it doesn't bother him when I am on it and sometimes he gets a bit annoyed.  I was gong to go out this afternoon but it is coming on the t.v. that we are having an freezing rain warning until midnight tonight so I don't think I am going anywhere. I have freezing rain. Bible study was cancelled for tonight because of the weather. This stuff is one of the things that I can't stand about winter, the other being the cold. To think that I use to love the cold, I just can't believe it was like that before. I better get going. Hope that all are having a great day and you have an even better evening.

Good evening! Time for an update. I went this morning to my pulmo clearance.  Everything checked out just fine, so now it is on to the Hemo testing on Wednesday!!!  Wednesday is when I start my liquid diet again.  Oh well, I can do this!!!  I am positive!  I also went shopping today at the Meijers store.......I got a canister of the natural Designer Whey Protein powder for me to use after surgery.  Also, the nutritionist at the hospital suggested Viactive for the calcium chews.  She said even tho they aren't the citraite, they are fine to use.  As long as they have the added vitamins K and D, then it is ok for me to use.  That is good, because I can get the viactive here in town instead of driving to get them.  I turned my prescription in for my levemox shots!!!  I almost fainted!!!  They are going to cost me $556.37!!!! And that is WITH insurance!!!!!  I don't have a clue how I am going to manage getting those, and the pharmacist is going to check and see if there is any other that I can get that will be cheaper on my insurance!!!  If not, I don't know what I am going to do.  I don't have money for the girls for Christmas as it is, how in the heck am I supposed to come up with that much money to pay for required shots after surgery!!!  Uggh! Just the thought makes me sick! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!!! I am desparate now! I have to run Jimmy to work now, but I will be on later tonight if anyone wants to chat!!! Have a great night, and ttyl!

Lachelle, any chance of seeing if they will give you the doses to take home from the hospital before you leave?? St Vincent's gives us the Lovenox already in premeasured syringes. Thank GOD I don't know how I'd been able to afford 6 of them. I know they said at the nutrition class that they were like 120.00 a piece.
