I was talking with a friend who is also having lap band surgery Monday.. she keeps saying how excited she is....and she asked me if I was excited.... NOPE sure ain't.......  Those who are close to surgery or out of surgery were you excited about having your surgery? Also..I have to tell you this story... I saw my mother Tuesday night (I am single so she is taking me to and from and I am going to stay with my folks for a few days) and she said ... here is the plan for Monday.. after we leave the hospital we are going to go to your sister's and make Christmas Cookies. WHAT??????????????????????????????????????? I said why don't we just play it by ear and see how I am feeling and go from there..... she said well we just figured you could sleep at your sister's...... COOKIES?  geez

I was anxious right before my surgery and right after, I was sooo medicated. I would'nt have even known what a cookie was when I left the hospital. I would have smelled them though and strangled somebody. My Mom( who has never had more than a ten lb weight problem in her life) was here to help us and the day I got home from the hospital she makes pork chops, fried potatoes and applesauce for my hubby and our son. My hubby said I let out a slew of obscenities that would have embarrassed his entire unit-THAT'S how mad I was because I could smell some delicious meal floating up the stairs. Luckily, my Mom is an ex-RN so she chalked it up the meds. I don't remember it at all, but I was mad the entire time she was here because she kept cooking like that and I kept smelling it.  Tell her the smell will make your tummy sick. Angie

I was excited right before surgery, the first one then cuz that had to be rescheduled for an open RNY after finding something on my liver, I wasn't so excited for the 2nd one just cuz I was sooooooo nervous with that one.  I wasn't so excited after it all either, I had issues with nausea, but now I am happy and healthy. My first night home, my husband went and got the kids all McDonalds for supper, instead of takeing them there he brought it home to them and didnt tell me so that I could go into another room, I bawled and bawled and bawled.  I laugh at it now but at that moment the smell was just to much for me to handle and not be able to eat it.

I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I WAS A JABBER BOX ABOUT IT. I ADMIT AT FIRST I WAS A BIT NERVOUS BUT I LET THE GOOD LORD TAKE CHARGE AND I WAS JUST ONE DAY JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN OK AND EXCITED I WAS GOING TO LIVE TO SEE NET YEAR.  NOW THE COOKIES PART WELL I WAS SO OUT OF IT A BOMB COULD HAVE WENT OFF AND I WOULD NOT HAVE BUDGED. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND I THINK YOUR MOM SHOULD THINK OF YOU AS WELL. IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE AT YOUR SISTERS THEN AS LONG AS YOU HAVE YOUR PAIN MEDS GO SLEEP IT OFF AND THEN GO HOME LATER. IF YOU REALLY FEEL THAT BAD ASK HER TO TAKE YOU HOME THEN GO IF SHE HAS TO.  GOOD LUCK  VICKI

I was very excited about my surgery.  I am sure my family & co-workers were really tired of me talking about it.  A few times I even said, have you ever seen someone be so excited to have surgery.  I have a story of my own.  The day after I came home, my husband had to work in the evening and he got home around 11pm or so and brought Subway home.  Subway is one of my favorites and I went off on him.  Telling him how dare he bring home food like that when I cant eat it.  He got mad threw the sub in the fridge and went to bed.  I laid there and cried & cried.  Then the next day I apologized to him and said I cant expect you guys to not eat food just because I cant have it.  But now, it doesnt bother me.  I can take the kids thru a drive thru and order for them and not get myself anything.  I have even been known to chew a food up that I am not suppose to have and then spit it out.  Just to get the taste.  Probably not a good thing to do, but it helped me.  Everyone just laughed at me, when I done it.

Yes, I am so excited, I can hardly stand myself!!! The problem is, I am now on my liquid diet and my stomach is growling.........and I am trying not to listen to my head telling me to go eat just a piece of crackers or something like that.  There is only so much soup that a human can tolerate before you pee yourself to death! LOL I just keep reminding myself that it will be over with before I know it, and I will be healthier in the new year!!!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!
