Okay, I have my consult with Dr. Gupta on Dec 20th at 4:30, I was wondering if that one on one thing with the Dr. afterward is worth it, and also how much do they usually charge?  I think it sounds like a good Idea, and I want to do it.  But I want to know how much it will be..lol?

That is invaluable! I would not have missed it for anything!! I don't recall being charged anything at all...or if I was, it had to have been rolled into the cost of the surgery. Call & ask if there's a charge...but either way, I would DEFINATELY have that one on one...and I would bring your significant other or another friend/family member with you. They usuallly help to ask questions that you don't think of. Oh..and be sure to write down any questions ahead of time so that if they aren't answered during the presentation, you can ask Dr. Gupta one on one. Sherri

Oh excellent, thanks sherri!  I was definately thinking that, wy wouldn't you want to have one on one time?  I am most definately going to do it.  I don't see why I shouldn't.  And of course, my mom is coming with me.  I'll ask questions, but she will give dr. Gupta a run for her money!...lol!  My mom just ikes to gain knowledge, so she already has tons of questions planned.

Yes I went to the one on one with Dr Gupta after the info session.  There is a charge for this.  It was like $100-$125 range.  If you have insurance, they will bill your insurance.  I done this in August and when I went for my first post op visit Oct. 18, they said I had a co-pay from my info session meeting.  I had to pay like 20.00.  But I would definetly go.

If I were you I would go to the one-on-one session, IF you are comfortable with Dr. Gupta when you meet her in the information session beforehand.  You have to have the one-on-one session before you can go any further in the process with St. Vincent's, and the doctor you meet one-on-one with is the surgeon who will perform your surgery.  So if you are not comfortable with Dr. Gupta for some reason then you should schedule a information session with a different doctor and go to a one-on-one session with the doctor you feel comfortable with.  Does that make ANY sense??  I had my one-on-one consult with Dr. Cacucci and the cost was $120.00 (which my insurance--Anthem BCBS--did not cover ANY of) Hope this helps!

Cool, thanks for your info jenny and maddie!  I was just really curious how much it was, and if it was worth it!  I hope I do feel comfortable with her, she seems really intelligent.
