I need some suggestions please!!!
Ok, I know I have seen a list somewhere on here before, either in a posting or on someones page. I am only on day 2 of my liquid diet, and I have run out of ideas...........either that, or I am just getting waterlogged already! I need some suggestions to help me get thru this.
So far I have eaten soup, broth, jello, and popcicles. What else is there???? Please help!!! I am really getting cranky with my stomach growling!

Lachelle my friend.
KEEP BUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There isn't anything else. Trust me I looked and I called my nut and she told me there wasn't anything. You can do this. I know you can I mean look at me I did it for goodness sake's. All you have to do is just say the end result is what I want, what I need what I WILL GET too!!! And it does get better.
Love you Girlie,
Julie Call me if you need me. I'll PM u my number.
Thanks for the encouragement!!! I know I can, I have just ran out of ideas already!!! I am tempted to make some chili and put it in the blender until it is puree.....I wonder if this is ok. I really would love to shove a huge cheeseburger into a blender and add some ketchup and mustard, and blend away..........but now the thought of me actually doing that has made me nauseous! ROFLMAO!!!

LaChelle, when I was on the liquid diet for the 2 weeks before surgery (I had to do the liquid clear diet the 2 days before)I could have crystal light, cream of wheat, but no oatmeal, and the SF puddings and jello. The cream of wheat got through when things were getting bad and believe me I missed it the 2 days before surgery. If I can think of anythings else I will let you know. Oh, I could have SF sorbet which they sell at Gordon's Marketplace. You can do this because it is something you want and just keep focused!
LaChelle,
I wasn't put on a liquid diet (except just the night before..and anyone can get through just one meal of a liquid diet) so I'm sorry that I don't really have any ideas there. I wanted to suggest though that you be sure that what you do have has as much protein as possible in it. You're going to need your protein levels built up in order to heal better after your surgery. Lord knows I've been learning all about keeping mine up..lol. Swanson's has a chicken broth in one of those cardboard looking containers that has 4 or 5 g of protein per serving. That may not sound like much, but most of them only has 1 or 2 g. I don't know how you feel about seafood, but if you were going to puree a soup, I'd trade your potato soup (high in carbs, low in protein) for a clam chowder or another seafood-based one. Seafood is very high in protein.
I tried to Google 'full liquid diet' to see if there were any other food choice suggestions. Unfortunately, it seems to depend on the ailement..lol. I havent' really found a comprehensive list for if you are otherwise healthy but preparing for gastric bypass. The site for if you have digestive disorders and are on it lists ALOT fewer things allowed than the one for if you have cancer and are put on the full liquid diet. You may want to google it yourself and see if any of them looks like what you're looking for.
Good luck! I sure am glad that Dr. Gupta didn't require me to go through everything you have...between all your releases to have surgery and now this not being able to eat-eat for two weeks before you even have the surgery. You are doing fantastic!

ps..Has anyone mentioned Biotin to you yet? It's a vitamin B tablet that helps with nail & hair growth. Many post-ops start losing hair post-op...it's suppose to be due to a deficiency in protein. Me, about 4-5 months post-op every time and it doesn't matter for me if I get 80 g of protein in a day, my hair starts thinning out. If you start taking Biotin now, it will help decrease the chances of you losing hair post-op...or at least, decrease how much you lose. You can usually find Biotin with all the other vitamins at the grocery store or pharmacy. I think they come in 300 mcg to 2000 mcg tablets. The nuts recommended for me the 300 mcg..but when I kept having surgeries, I upped it and haven't noticed as much hair in the drain trap.
