Dear Sherri, Thank you so much for the supportive words you have not just for me but for all. I truely am blessed to have somewhere to go for words of wisdom and kindness, most of all support.I think I spent to much time with medical folks and not family. I am just so unsure with me. I think to quit beating myself up. I 'm praying they just see me and not what I look like. Next one of my family members tell I can get a man now. Why do I want one, LOL. I still have my man friend. And if they think losing weight is the answer then they not the family I love. Love,Hugs and Blessings, Gail

Gail,

First off I agree with everyone else... They want to see who you are on the inside... And they want to relish in the changes that you have made to the outside with you. However i also understand your anxiety. I feel it everytime I see people that i haven't seen before Surgery... I know it sounds corny, but everytime I'm going to go out and be around people tha ti haven't seen since surgery and I'm starting to feel that anxiety creep in I stand in front of the mirror and look at myself and say "I am beautiful, and I have met my OWN expectations, which are the only ones that matter" It helpes give me enough umph to get ou tthere and then once i get there I realize that they aren't judging me anyway...

:hugs: We all Love you Gail!!! Take care and give yourself that UMPH

Hi Gail, Everyone else has already said all the things you need to hear about how to handle family members (supportive or not).  But I wanted to congratulate you for having the wisdom and the courage to ask for help when you needed it.  Too often, we (me specifically) are unwilling or unable to ask for the support and help that we need.  I think the simple fact that you got on this board and asked for the support that you need right now speaks volumes about what a truely courageous person you are.  With courage like that, you don't have to sweat what your family maybe thinking or even saying.  You are very strong and obviously believe enough in your self to do what is necessary to get through anything. Enjoy your holidays.  Merry Christmas to you.
Cindy
