Well, as you know I was complaining of this awful stomach pain/bloating something going on in my stomach I thought was gas.  I broke down and called Dr. Gupta Saturday night and she said I needed to come there to the ER and be checked out.  I really didnt want to drive 2 hours at 10pm, so I asked her if I could wait and see how I felt in the morning. She said that would be fine.  Well got up Sunday and pain would come and go.  My husband finally said get ready an we are going now.  So I called her and told her I was on my way.  They done CT Scan, I guess it was ok.  They came in and said they were going to keep me overnight (Sun. night) and scope me Monday morning.  So done they scope and there lied the culprit.  A nice pretty ulcer.  Gave me some Carafate, Loratab, phenegran and released me.  Guess what the pain has subsided.  There are still some things that I have tried to eat and it has aggravated it.  Do these ulcers go away or will I always have it creep up on me?   Just wanted to let you all know where I have been and that I finally got an answer to my stomach pain. Yikes Jenny... The Carafate should help to ease the ulcer pretty good and what not. I had an ulcer at 3 weeks out and it's not been spotted again in all the scopes I've had so I'm pretty sure they can heal up and go away.

Ok now Jenny that's enough of that stuff.  I've been keeping a close eye on you because you are just a bit further out than me.  I keep watching for your posts so I can learn from your mistakes!  This is one I don't want to learn by experience.  LOL  Were you given any reason the ulcer appeared? I'm so glad you're feeling better.  And yes, you've been missed! Smooches, Jacqui

No, I didnt get to see the doc after finding out I had it.  I was discharged and given a paper that said ulcer on it and prescriptions and told to follow up with Dr. Gupta.

Jenny, I had 2 ulcers early out...with a scope or two in-between each of them that showed that the 1st one was completely gone (those scopes were for strictures...all of my scopes were for strictures. Finding the ulcers were just kinda a 'oh..and you also had an ulcer' type of thing). The meds took care of each of them. One, I had caffiene (1/2 cup of coffee), the other citric acid (ketup). Just be very careful and you'll be fine. Just remember that your pouch is about like the stomach of a toddler and if you wouldn't give what-ever to your baby, don't give it to yourself. Welcome back..and I'm glad you're feeling better! Sherri
