Saturday!!
Good morning everyone!
It's another nice, crisp morning! Don't ya just love being a Hoosier??? (yeah right, I'm counting the years down till I can retire to somewhere warm!!) Ah well, it gives me an excuse to put my truck in 4-wheel..lol!
Well..yesterday morning we waited until ~9 to head over to Community East for me to get my blood drawn. We just knew that the hemophilia center wouldn't have had the CBC order called in even though Dr. Greist and her nurse both assured me that it would be done (I talked to them on Wed...so they had all of Thur. to do it). Sure enough, not done! In fact, the one on the phone couldn't even find where there was an order for it to be done in my chart on the computer! So..we had to wait around for them to talk with Dr. Greist herself!
I am so glad we didn't go there when the med lab opened at 7 (like we usually do when we have the written order). That hemophilia center is so dang unorganized!!! Finally, we get them to say on the phone that yes, it needs to be done. The med lab tech had the blood drawn AND labeled before the girl got off the phone completing the verbal order for it! LOL! But then the center starts up on the med lab how crucial it is for them to get the results ASAP. The med lab handled it much better than I would have! I would have probably told them that it'll be done as soon as it gets done but IF it were that crucial, perhaps they should have had the order in like they were suppose to so that the patient didn't have to wait around for an hour while they try to get their act together. But...that's me. I'm not always nice or always patient. Remember, that office is why my surgery got postponed to begin with and here it was just more of the same crap. Anyway, the hemophilia center called me around 1-1:30 yesterday (quick for them!!). My result was 4.1..normal is 4.0-10.0. So yay!!! I'm in normal range! They called me back to let me know that they gave the go-ahead to Dr. Bergman & Dr. Gupta's offices and that now it is Heather's hands..the scheduler at Dr. Gupta's office. So...hopefully I'll get a new date soon. I don't understand why it couldn't have been set up Friday afternoon though. I would have set up a conference call with Dr. Bergman's scheduler and the operating room scheduler and gotten a date within 10 minutes. Make sense to you? Shoot..if they don't have conference call capabilities, call Dr. Bergman's scheduler, get 3-4 dates/times figured out that both surgeons were available for 4 hours, and then make a call to the OR scheduler and see if any of those 3 or 4 dates would have an open OR room. How tough is that???? And no, I'm not a secretary but can figure out how to get 3 schedules to jive!
Okay..post-op....Dr. Greist has decided not to put me back on coumadin as quickly as they normally would someone. Instead, I'll be on the Arixtra (injections like lovenox, also in the belly) for 2 weeks and then we'll add coumadin to the mix. But...she's going to keep a close track on my white cell count and if/when they start decreasing, take me off of the coumadin and either back to Arixtra only (if insurance would agree to paying for it for three months since it's very expensive) or take me off of it & the coumadin. I'm suppose to be on the coumadin for 3 more months but it's more important at this stage for me to be able to have all the white cells I can in order to fight off any infection. So..it's a wait & see. I personally expect the white count to drop..why wouldn't it since we know that is the effect coumadin has on me? (yet another common sence thing..huh?) Another thing that is a wait & see is if I'll be going into surgery with it being planned on them putting in a pic line. If they have to track my cbc regularly, then they are going to have to do something. I can't be getting stuck 4 times every other day in order for them to get a tube of blood (there's no finger-stick capabilities for the cbc test). Dr. Greist will probably be making that decision after she gets the surgery date. I know that she was against that idea before when the visiting nurse wanted it done but that was before her office found out for themself how hard of a stick I can be.
So..tonight's dinner is definately just for our Miss Jodi. That's how it should be though! She deserves her own last dinner! So everyone...if possible, please plan on joining us and showing Jodi how much we care about her!! Here's the info again:

Good morning all. I just finished placing my order for some SF marshmallows on simplysweet.com. I can't wait for them to get here. It will take a few weeks, probably, so who knows. How long did it take your order to come in, Sherri? Just curious.
I have an extremely long day today at work. 1pm-11pm. UGGH!!! And of course, it is my Friday at work......I just love it so freaking much how poor our scheduler can screw up everyones schedules so bad. Freaking B#$@H! And of course, you can't say a thing to her, or she makes it even worse on the next schedule. None of us like her, and she knows it. We are all hoping that she will be fired in the next few days. She caused the casino to lose over $80,000 due to an error, so she really deserves it. AND, our boss that fired Jimmy just a couple weeks ago, he was another person that caused the casino to loose that much money, so we are really fighting Jimmy's firing now, since he still works there as well.......and Jimmy only cost them $8,000.......not over $80,000!!! If something isn't done with both of them within the next few days, the company will be recieving a letter from an attorney! We are livid with how this has been handled, and it won't happen for much longer thats for sure!
Anyway, got to get in the shower, and get ready for work. Have a great weekend all!

LaChelle,
Is SimplySweet.com another sf site? I ordered from PerfectlySweet.com. It took about a week for my order to come in. I have been very happy with everything I got in so far. I haven't tried the sf syrups yet but I'm sure they'll be terrific too!

LaChelle,
I fixed myself a cup of sf hot chocolate last night. It must have been the sub-concious thinking about you ordering your marshmallows..lol. I still have 3-4 bags of the marshmallows that I got from BariatricEating.com but I thought I'd try out the PerfectlySweet ones. You can tell by looking at them that the two aren't the same. Anyway, here's my 'review' on them:
The BariatricEating.com marshmallows are larger than the PerfectlySweet ones. They melt good in hot chocolate ...but they are so big that I cut them up in 2-4 pieces each before putting them in my hot chocolate so they'd fit in the cup better and get more even melting. They are great for shmore's since they are big enough to stay on the stick (my marshmallow sticks are thin metal..not wood) and they melt good & can get nice & toasty (the way I like them!). BUT...to eat them straight from the bag, they are a little bit grainy/gritty. I am very texture sensitive now so I just didn't eat any straight from the bag..lol.
The PerfectlySweet ones taste terrific straight from the bag! I have never made rice crispie treats but I just may pick up a box of the cereal and try making a batch. Afterall, I did get the 12 package minimum (buy 6, get 6 for free) so I have plenty for cooking too! In my hot chocolate, they melted terrific! And they are small enough that I didn't have to cut them up at all. The only drawback? I'm not sure how well they'll stay on my marshmallow sticks for shmore's. So..I'm going to hold on to the BariatricEating ones for that and use the PerfectlySweet ones for everything else.

Yummy!!! I can't wait to get my marshmallows in then.......I have been craving hot chocolate with them in it for a few days, so as soon as they get here, here we go! LOL
I also ordered some of the fudge brownies. I have wanted browines since September, but wouldn't cheat on my diet to eat any......NOW I am going to allow myself to try just a little bit every few weeks, so I don't mess things up! LOL
Gotta get ready for church, have a great day!

Fight em Lachelle.
Sherri that really is frustrating to be told that something will be done and it's not, I've had that happen before.
Not much else to say today, I didn't sleep too well last night. This tube is in the wrong spot again I know it for a fact because the pain from last weekend is back full force. I'm gonna try and tough it out til Monday at least unless it gets toooooo bad. Last night I almost woke Rich up but ended up crying myself to sleep after 2 pain pills (i'm allowed to take 1-2 every 6 hours). I really would rather wait til Monday and let it get repositioned by Dr. C instead of ending up at the ER again but it just depends, I'm having vomiting again since yesterday when it was completely in my stomach and I'm trying to avoid ending up in the hospital or dehydrated soo I'm hoping things will settle down for a couple days. If you wanna see what a Gtube looks like when it's out of place click on my profile.. I put a pic in my blog of my gtube just barely hanging out the gauze lol. It usually hangs out the bottom of my baggy shirts so you figure its in there a good 10-12 inches atleast.
