I don't know what to do.. I know I need to go back to St Vs probally
Rich had to come home from working all day at the factory and head right to his part time job til atleast 10 pm. The pain in my stomach is unbearable and has been for hours now, but noone could cover his shift. Do I call the on call surgeon now or wait til hes closer to coming home?? I'm soo frustrated and hurting so bad I can't hardly stand it. I tried eating earlier and it made the pain a lot worse and came back up and drinking makes my stomach hurt really bad too.
Well I spoke to Dr. Jones she said to try my local ER we're calling the local ER to see if they will even touch it because i dont wanna sit there for a couple hours and be told they wont touch it and have to drive to indy... We're going to try our local ER just to see because Rich has been at work since 5 am and dont feel comfortable driving that long
I just got home and its bout 10 til 4.. I kind of have a lil bit of restored faith in our local ER and we actually had a decent doc tonight. I was worried when he asked if I even had a stomach after my gastric bypass LOL But he did the trick. He pulled my g-tube out and put a brand new one in but nowhere near as far as the previous was in. The pressure on my ribs/lungs was immediately relieved. I'm still hurting a bit but more so where the tube was lodged now I think its mainly just the trauma and all that stuff.. They ended up stitching it without numbing it because he forgot the numbing stuff and asked if it was okay to just go for it since with the lidacaine or whatever hed have to use a needle and then the stitch would be 2 pokes so I said go for it and just breathed through it. Overall I feel a good deal better and the nausea has let up quite a bit already. He actually did an Xray with contrast AFTER replacing the tube also to make sure it was in the right place before stitching it in. This was my first positive experience there in a couple years atleast. I'm so tired so I'm heading to better. I do have to follow up with my PCP tho because my liver enzymes were sky high..
Misty,
I am so glad the ER was able to give you some relief!
You may want to let Dr. C know about those liver enzymes too. So many things can be affected from having WLS that I would be sure to tell both doctors about anything like that.
I hope that darn tube stays put now! I'm curious..why did you get that gtube to start with? I know it's not standard quo for everyone to get one...and certainly not to have a tube as long as you have.

Sherri,
Dr C gave me the g-tube because of the PICC lines getting infected constantly and so she didn't want me having TPN at home anymore but she wanted me to have it to feed to make sure my body was getting some nourishment because that was back when I couldn't hardly keep anything in by mouth at all.
ah..ok. I'm so glad I was able to keep stuff down! I hope you'll be able to get that out soon and her not wait until your 9 month like she had said at your 6 month.
