Since I'm still awake right now I figured I'd start the morning thread. My plans for today: SLEEP. Rich told me hes not letting me lift a finger. I am just exhausted and kinda wired (I ended up with an Asthma attack because the pain was so bad with that tube putting pressure on my ribs or lungs or whatever) and the breathing treatment has me all kinds of fun and jittery LOL. I got pressure wrap on both arms pink on one and green on the other from blown IVs. The one I got bout half bag of fluids in and they came in to give me some phenergan in it and flushed it afterwards and it popped out and lets just say it was a mess lol. I teased Rich and said I was a power ranger hehe.. I'm feeling so much better already though it seems so thats awesome... I wanna make it to church this morning but if I don't get up in time I won't fret since it's 5 hours a way. Anyways I'm really headed to bed now I think... I hope you all are doing well.. Love yas

Morning Everyone! Up early this morning to head for Kokomo for a Special Olympics Basketball Tourney. That will pretty much be an all day event. Then it's heading home to start my PREP for surgery tomorrow. Had so much fun last night. Infact I haven't had that much fun.... say... oh... since the winter of 78`. Lots of good laughs and good stories. I honestly think we should have get together dinners at least once every month. That way if you can't make it to a clothing exchange you still have the opprotunity to see everyone at a dinner. And we can schedule it like the 2nd or 3 rd Saturday of each month so that it's something that automatically looked forward too. What do you guys think? Anyways - I had a great time. I came close to crying a little from the cards from Sherri and Bill and the ultimate fantastic gift bag from Gail. Gail, I'm sure gonna smell pretty damn good in that hospital bed, hahah! Thank you all that came and those that didn't I hope sometime you get the opprotunity to go to a get together dinner because they are pretty awesome and sometimes you actually get some info you probably didn't know about weight loss surgery. Anyways Other then basketball and PREP`in, I'm not doing much of anything. Sherri, I'll email you that joke and that picture before I go to the basketball meet. And thanks again for organize the shing`ding last night. I really needed it. Jodi

Good morning everyone! Jodi..you are so right! Last night was great. I know one thing though, I'm going to think twice about taking up biking and getting bike shoes. Haha!! It was a pretty terrifc group there. I always have so much fun at these dinners! It's just a great time to kick back and relax. Now Jodi...while you are recovering, tell Matt to call you on his cell when he is out in the parking lot. Let him know when you pass gas (notice..when, not if..lol) and tell him to listen out for any horns beeping! LOL! If there aren't any, you can then breathe easier!  I meant what I said though honey...always try to find SOMETHING to laugh about in any given situation and you will find that it is much easier to get through it.On a more serious note, don't try to find a reason for everything. Sometimes, we won't and will never know what the reason is. We just have to trust God that he had a darn good one. In your situation, don't get so hung up on not being in control of being able to have another baby IF you would happen to choose to in the future that you go into depression and not be able to enjoy Quintin and Gage today. God gave you two miracles. The next one may not be in the form of a new life..but giving you your life so that you may enjoy the rest of the miracles he already gave you. Look for the bright side in that situation. God sent Matt to you so that he could give you Quintin at just the right time! Isn't it terrific how he knows when the right times are? If you need to talk hon..I'm here. Gail also wanted me to let you know that if you'd like to call her, she'll be home. I'll try to make it up to see you Tuesday or Wednesday. I may even call Gail and see if she'd like to join me. You have alot of friends here who love you and will be praying for you. Gail also asked me to let you know that her friend Wilma was putting you on her church's prayer request list this morning. Enjoy Gage's B-ball today. It's good to get your mind off of everything. Enjoy your 'prep' tonight. Just think, since the beginning of October, my system has been thinking that it's on the 'prep' most of my waking hours! lol. love ya hon.... I think a monthly get together would be great..but I'd like to see someone from each side of town be the one to drive it each month. I know it's usually Floyd & Brenda or myself..and actually, those are just times when we want to get together for dinner anyway and don't want to leave anyone out. lol  But...I could see where some would think 'yeah, it's ALWAYS on the east side of town'. Well...if we are the ones planning it and the east side is the side we know...and we are the only ones that we know for sure will show up...then yep, it'll be on the east side. Now..if someone else wants to head it up each month, that would be fantastic! Floyd & Brenda or I may still post about the times that 'we' plan on getting together besides the monthly dinner..but I think Floyd would agree with me that it would be great if someone else spear-headed this activity. Any takers to be the organizer of it? As organizer, you'd just need to be the point person for someone to say 'hey, I live on the ____side and ____would be a fantastic place to get together at.' Ask that person to get the address, phone number, and find out if they give a discount to bariatric post-ops (no, that doesn't eliminate that restaurant if they don't but new post-ops usually ask that question). Just a suggestion but I think the restaurants should be affordable for most. Red Loster, Steak & Ale, Joe's Crabshack may all be excellent places to eat...but they are all pricey and the pricier, the less people are going to show up. We usually choose places that are $15 or less per person...like last nights, it was $20 a couple with no bariatric discount applied (at 3 yrs out, I don't ask for one). Buffets really do make good choices since they give alot of options (with our picky tummy's!) and no guilt if we can't eat what we put on our plate...just go grab another plate and try something else. If it's a 'menu' place, it should have on the menu choices that new post-ops can eat (cream soups, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, refried beans, etc). The organizer would be responsable for posting about the get together and be the point person for everyone else. If people need directions and you aren't familiar with the place, ask the host/hostess to help the person out. Also, if 2 people email you that are both from the same side of town, try to get a month or two in-between the two. I can say it upfront..if you ever need someone for the eastside, just let me or Floyd know...ok? So...if someone is willing to take this on...drop me  a note. I was going to say me or Jodi..but she's going to be unavailable for the next week or so. Not alot planned today. I could use a quiet day though. LOL! I need them more & more! Guess my body is going into slow-down mode for surgery. As if I've actually been doing 'alot' anyway..lol. I have noticed lately though that the intestines are kinda poking out low..like on my bladder (which would explain me having to go potty every time I drink 2 oz of water!). They are just poking out more & more everywhere I think. I will be so glad to get them put where they belong..and them stay there!  I'm glad I was able to eat good last night..today hasn't been a good day at all so far with that. Ah well..most breakfasts are kinda iffy these days anyway.  Keep Jodi in your prayers tomorrow. Also, our Hope & her husband Peter has been going through alot since we met them last summer. Peter was diagnosed with pre-lukemia and has recently been approved for a transplant with a 9/10 match. He's at IU going through a series of chemo treatments to prepare him for the transplant. To be sure the chemo has done it's job, they will be doing additional bone marow biopsies. It's my understanding that this is quite painful. He will be at IU for probably at least 4 weeks. Meanwhile, Hope will be putting on the miles between Indy & Middlebury to keep things going at home. Please pray that God gives Peter the strength he needs and that he keeps his hand on Hope as she makes all of those trips, to keep her safe in his hands. Peter isn't allowed any foods or floral stuff in his room so please drop Hope an email if you'd like to send something but need some guidance as to what. She is in the Hoosier Directory. She may not reply for a few days though. Her laptop isn't seeing hot spots so she has been having to wait until she gets home to send out an update & check her mail. You know, between Jodi's cancer and Peter's lukemia, it really makes my whole tummy thing seem so minor in my mind. Some of us are really good at letting our family here know what is going on in our lives and when we could use the prayers. Others, keep their problems to themselves. You know who you are. Please pray that God keeps his hand on all of our OH family with whatever they are going through, known or unknown.  Well..you all have a terrific day & stay warm. Sherri

There is a nurse on the transplant 4 north named Jan the knows Ted Eads from his student nursing days. He is now the director of St. Vincents Bariatric center.  She is a great lady and fun to be around.  I was on that floor with the incident I had the end of December. Let me know the room and I would be honored to visit on y lunch hours I need the steps and it is just a short distance from the building I work in.

Morning all.  I am exhausted and tired, but I am ready to take on the day.  We have church in a bit, but after that, not much else is going on.   I had one of my incisions pop open last night at work.  It didn't hurt a bit, and it doesn't look too infected, so all I did was clean the wound site out, and cover it with some bandages.  It will heal up just fine, so I am not worried about it.  It looked kinda cool tho, just looking into a deeper gash! LOL I got home from work at 11:50 pm last night after a busy day at the casino.  It was busier than usualy, but not slammed like they expect on Saturday nights. Oh well. As long as I get my paycheck, we will be just fine! Have a great day all.

At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Hi all! How are you doing? I hope well. I have to work this afternoon, and do a little school work after that. That's my big plans for today. Whee,... right? Sunday's atleast the mall doesn't open till later, and I can generally sleep in. Yesterday I had to get up early and go to the BMV, to plate my car. I drove all the way up to the Clinton BMV where my sister-in-law works. I had Maggie with me, and I knew she would enjoy seeing her.

Linda, I don't feel so bad now! When we lived in Clinton, forus, it was having to go 'all the way' to Terre Haute just to be able do just about anything. It was SO fantastic when we finally got a WalMart! LOL! It's nice to see someone from Terre Haute talking like they had to drive for hours just to go to Clinton! LOL! I am really surprised that the Clinton BMV escaped the cuts that happened a few years ago. Of course, it is probably either the only one or one of the very few in the county! LOL! Sherri

Clinton's the only one in Vermillion county. There used to be a satelite in Cayuga, but that got cut.
