Just moved to IN

Hi everyone I'm new in town (and the state actually) just thought I would say high and introduce myself...  I'm Brooke and I'm 27.  I just moved to Fort Wayne and I'm liking it here... A LOT!  I got the RNY done on 12/21/04 and I've lost about 120 pounds.  Though I've still got about 40 more I'd like to lose.   I'm looking into getting plastic surgery, maybe at the end of the year and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a plastic surgeon in this area. I had my RNY done with barix clinic and I'd like to consult with them on the plastics too but they are 3 hours in either direction.   Thanks for the info... :) P.S. does anyone know where I can get good mexican food in this area? hehe

Brooke, Welcome to Indiana and to the Indiana board. We're a pretty interactive group (online & offline!).  I had my plastic done by Dr. Bergman here in Indy. She and her partner, Dr. Grasse are both terrific. Sorry, I don't know the Ft. Wayne area...but if you're in Indy, we can go to our favorite mexican restaurant! LOL! Sherri

Thanks for the welcome.  I'm really like it a lot here.  I just got my liscense and plates switched over so I guess I'm official now. I'm going to look into those doctors... thanks... did your insurance help cover it? Actually... I have a career fair there next month for my job...  I used to work in a Mexican restaurant before I moved here, so I miss the food a lot... but not the calories!

Brooke, My insurance covered the tummy tuck portion I paid for the abdo and thigh lift. Next, I'll be saving up to get the girls taken care of. Some of the local plastic surgeons won't even think about trying to bill the insurance most of the time (like Dr. Turkle). Dr. Bergman even got my insurance to cover the initial consult...something that is out of pocket with others. You'll have to let us know when you're going to be in town as the date gets closer. I'll be having surgery on March 3rd (long story short, hernia repair), but if I'm able to meet you, I will! Let us know where your career fair is going to be and we can try to plan to meet at a mexican restaurant near there...k?  Sherri ps...We love getting together in person here in Indiana! I know there are others from your area so that you could meet some other losers in person. What a terrific way to make friends!!

Welcome Brooke, I too have had plastics with Dr. Grasse. I had the panniculectomy only and it WAS covered by my insurance! Good luck to you on this new phase of your journey! Keep posting and let us know when you are in INDY!!! Hugz Dawn

Thanks for the welcome and the info...  I'm trying to lose maybe 30-40 more pounds before plastics but I'm trying to gather all the info and be as informed as possible for it. I'm going to check my Calendar at work on Monday to find out my Career Fair date for sure!!
