It's about the drastic measures have taken for their teens to lose weight.  Sounds interesting!
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!

Linda, I have yet to see Oprah, Dr. Oz, or Dr. Phil say anything positive about weight loss surgery. They all seem to think that EVERYONE, regardless of age, can lose weight if they really wanted to without surgery. And if you would believe all you see on Oprah, if you lose weight by having weight loss surgery, you will also develop a horrible habit..gambling, drinking, shopping...or just become a ****puppy. Aparently you don't get any of those if you lose weight the 'old fashion way'...and aparently there was nothing in your personal make-up pre-op that indicated you would do any of those things..until you no longer depended on food anyway. Nope, not a big fan here of them or their close-minded opinions about something none of them have ever experienced. I'm glad you found something positive about the show...but I'm glad I chose to no****ch. I just get a little too aggrevated by them. On the other hand..I do have low blood pressure and it helps me to get it elevated now & then...lol. Sherri

It was sure interesting.  I've been overweight since I was 11.  If I could have had the surgery at 16, I would have had a much easier time at high school!  I can see why Oprah and Dr Oz are leery of it though.  Teenagers are still growing and hormonal.  I have a son that is 17 and is overweight and I am not sure if I would want him to do a RNY until he was a little older and could make the decision himself.  Sure is something to think about!
