Ugh.. I'm burning up with a fever. My normal temp is 96ish and it's 99.9 and that is about 45 mins after taking Tylenol cold multi symptom. I'm not really sure who to call because I have this horrible respiratory bug going around. My throat is sore (swollen, red and it looks like blisters on the back of it your typical case of strep throat), ears ache, nose is running, stuffy, sneezy, my coughs sound like barking, I'm wheezy, congested.. etc. I have a bad case of the chills and all that fun stuff. I have an appointment with my allergy/asthma doc on Friday. Problem is around my g-tube site is super duper red as well although the Bactrim ointment I been putting on the one trouble spot that looked infected is working great and cleaning it with peroxide is doing good also.  I'm almost 100% sure this is all related to the possible strep throat/respiratory stuff and not the g-tube so I'm thinking I should call my PCP in the morning. He could look at the g-tube site and tell me if that is infected I know and treat it most likely soo thats probally what I'll do. I just feel soooo blah. Right now I'm not toooooo bad because I've got vicks all over my chest/neck and did a breathing treatment. If it is partially the g-tube and the doc treats it is it something I should still notify Dr C's office of??

Aah the flu shot .. um nope lol. I've not been well for any amount of time in order for them to give it to me. I've always had a cough, fever, something going on and sooo they kept telling me come back another time or whatever. Last time I was in St V's inpatient the nurse offered it and was going to ask Dr C about them giving me the flu shot (her suggestion not mine) and see what she thought bout it because last time I got it I ended up with a fever and reaction. I do need to be in a bubble though seriously lol. It's not a surprise the way my labs have looked though my immune system has always been pretty crummy though sooo.. I'm gonna find out in the near future about Selenium. I know mine was way too low when my labs were run and I know that affects your immune system. Dr C said that Selenium is found in meats and I'm eating mostly meat soooooooo I don't know hehe. I know the multi vitamin I'm taking now how it also unlike the Liquid Centrum (which we had no clue didn't contain it). I need to find some like immune system boosters. Sadly though none of this is stuff that wasn't common preop.. I've always had an awful immune system and anemia. I've had sooo many workups run on my immune system by my allergy/asthma doc (who specializes in immunology also) and stuff comes back ok for the most part. We did find out something pretty scare last time he did a good work up. My immunizations don't like to take and last very long. I had a Pneumonia vaccine in 06, 10 months later when they checked my immune system I had NO immunity whatsoever to ANY of the types. They revaccinated me for it and rechecked it 3 months later and I still was only immune to half the types. Also my MMR I had done in 2005 (had to get it before we could get married bcause i didnt have my shot records and I'm in child bearing age) had to be repeated as well.. I joke a lot bout wearing a mask in public but one day I'm just gonna do it lol. I wash my hands to the point theyre sooo dry and stuff so I know it's not hand washing issues. I'm definitely a germaphobe but I have every reason to be considering the stupidest, slightest things flare my asthma up.

BTW I guess one good thing bout me not feeling well and my throat being sore is I've wanted ice cold drinks all day and I've drank about 3/4 of a gallon  of decaf iced tea with splenda lol. Thats the most fluids I've ever gotten in a day even preop.

Isn't splenda the best??? I have tried other non sweetners and just couldnt stand the after taste.. with Splenda you use less then half the normal amount and NO AFTERTASTE!!! YEA!! Linda Kay

Misty, I hope you get to feeling better really soon.  You have just had a rough way to go. When it rains it pours.  Just get plenty of rest and fluids and get to the dr to get taken care of.

i am so sorry to hear you are feeling bad yet again. just as one thing starts to clear up, it seems like something else starts to go wrong. i hear your about the asthma though, i have been lucky and have only had bronchitis once this winter so far. by this time i have usually had it three or four times. sending lots of warm wishes your way!

Thanks for the warm wishes!!!! I woke up this morning to no power and I needed a breathing treatment soo I almost panicked. I ended up doing like 6 puffs on my inhaler and it helped settled down a lil bit and our power just came back on a bout 30 mins ago and i was able to do a treatment. Talk bout scary. I couldn't even call anyone to see if I could take my neb to their house to do it because our phone is cordless no power meant no phone too.. I really need a cheap cell phone lol.
