May 2nd at 11 am.. Yah!!

I did have one question that they haven answered yet.  When do I pay my $250 deductible and $1000 out of pocket?  And do I pay that to the hospital or the doctor?  I seem to remember Colleen saying that this had to be paid before the surgery, but just not sure to who or when?

Thanks,

Kim

I was told the same thing...but I actually waited until I got the bill in the mail.  By the time that showed up a month later, I had already incurred expenses (from other things) that covered my out-of-pocket and about a month after that I got a check from the insurance company because I had overpaid. I'd just wait for the bill to arrive if no one says anything else about it.

I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...

I met my deductible and my out of pocket max right before surgery (My preop testing finished it off) sooo I didn't have to pay anything but my copay... I agree bout waiting til after the bill if you can otherwise I'd think they would contact you and tell you.

All the pre-op testing will probably eat up your deductible and out of pocket! The hospital will bill you what the insurance doesn't pay. I was lucky to have mine at the end of November. I had already met everything for the year. I only paid about $2 for all my surgery fees and surgeon fees!

Kim, I just wanted to congratulate you on your surgery date. I know that you have heard this over and over again but the time is going to go so fast. You are going to blink your eyes and the time is going to be here. Congratulations again, and we will save your seat on the bench.
