Thursday morning..

Good morning all. I'm having a rough week. My son's having some difficulties this week. Last night he was down and crying, and tearing up his room. We don't know why exactly. He has a hard time putting into words his emotions. He's working with his counselor on that. So I am going to call his psychiatrist this morning to see if he can get in sooner than next week when his appointment is. (Note: I called. Oh good, they can see him this morning.) And I found out yesterday that my psychiatrist for my mood problems is no longer working here in Terre Haute. I'm really sad about that. I really liked working with her. She was a good listener, and very responsive. It was kind of sudden, too. No real chance to say goodbye or anything, for closure. This has happened to me before. I spent part of yesterday afternoon calling around to see if I could find a different doctor. I think I have in Bloomington. There aren't alot of choices here in Terre Haute. I'm familiar with this lady in Bloomington, so that's good, but I'm still unhappy about losing my other doctor.

Linda - I'm sorry that your son is having a hard time again. I'm praying that things improve for him greatly today. Sorry bout your doctor leaving as well. Good thing your familiar with the other psychiatrist though!! Keep your head up things will get better.

I do have a couple of recipes for artichokes...I LOVE them but my family doesnt love them as much!  LOL I will post them when I find my recipes! I have made a mango salsa..I will see if I can find it too. As far as plaintains go...never had them. Have you tried Jicama..its great...I mix it sometimes in with potatoes and boil them or they are great just raw! Good Morning, I am so sorry i will miss the Lunch get together this afternoon. I have been working alot. I am finally getting my 6 days a week. Alot of sickies at work so I have been going in early also. Did I mention I had to go back to ohio last SUnday.My Grandpa had two heartaches, Sunday morning, saturday night. Well We drove over there sunday morning. They were not letting anyone in to see him because he was very uncooperative and he has a very bad temper anyway. Well I thought no news was good news. I was Wrong! I talked to my dad last night he said they can see him but He is pulling out his IV"S and is wanting to leave because he is not him self. He is delerious, uncoperative, and talking like is is 30 years ago.Sometimes he doesn't know who you are. His kidneys were down to 10% function because of the medication he was taking for his heart and he wouldn't go to the doc to have them monitered.they gave him dialysis and they have started to work better but They won't do the cath on him for his heart because he will not cooperate. He had a triple bypass about 12 years ago so this is not a surprise but the fact that he is so damn bullheaded to not believe the doc's about things that could prevent this is what is heartbraking!SO I am driving back this weekened to see him. I hope He is still stable enought. It takes me about 50.00 in gas to get there and back, ANd not to get to see him sucks.He is probably 78 ish and I had all for of my Grandparents up until a year and a half ago. I do not know how to handle all this.I  just assumed they would always be here. I had my great grandma until I was 22. I am doing ok though, I am finally to the realization that I will lose them sometime. I just do not know how my Grandma will do, she is so frail anyway. Keep them in your prayers. well I need to get in the shower.Have a good day. Shanna

Shanna I am so sorry to hear this. I can't really console you because I don't have any grandparents left and haven't for a long time. My dad's step mom is alive but she is impossible to get a hold of. :( (( HUGS )) We are praying for you and your granddad and family

Good morning... I'm still getting used to being here..it seems pretty friendly..I NEED friendly..LOL  Misty knows what I'm talking about..it's too long to explain here except to say..another message board similar to this one..but centered in Indy..is experiencing some major upheaval (sp?) and it's being dumped on me! So..anyway..this board does seem far more sociable..and warm than the other. Thank you all for that! I am looking forward to the dinner of March 1st! This place seems very warm and friendly..and I think I am going to get addicted to the smiley emoticons! They are fabulous! I'm going to the dinner on March 1st.. who else is going? I'm excited about it!
