I had RNY almost 5 years ago, but I have been picking up weight.  It's weird, the scales are the same but I am clearly gaining weight... I am wearing 2 sizes bigger with still the same weight on the scales.  I need some advice...  Thanks

Tonda,

For you to be gaining sizes but not weight, I would think the opposite is happening as one who loses sizes but not weight...and that is for them that they are gaining muscle mass and losing fat. So I would think that you are probably losing muscle, but gaining fat. Have you cut down on your exercise? Have little bites of fattening foods been finding their way back into your diet?

To lose, I would tell someone to increase one or more of PEW...Protein, Exercise, Water. To tone, exercise. If you are doing an exercise, change the type you are doing around abit to use other muscles. SparkPeople.com can help you come up with exercise ideas. If your pants are getting snug in the hips..do exercises geared for reducing and toning the hips. If it's the legs, check out the exercises to help with that problem area.

Most importantly, be sure you have support people in place to help you...and help motivate you. This site is a good one for that. So don't just be a lurker...please join us in conversation, activities, etc. We can certainly use more people further out!

I am 4 years out and I gained weight (25lbs) over a period of about 4 months and it was due to the typical stuff..no new news..decreased activity and increased eating. I was unemployed, eating was out of control..I was just completely off program while wallowing in self pity. I went back to old behaviors when the chips were down. I've since found a job I love and have been slowly working myself out of that funk. It's not easy but it can be done..you can lose the weight and get back on track. Oddly enough this is the same 25 lbs that I had gained , lost and now gained back again. Follow all that? So in conclusion I've gained lost and regained the same 25 lbs!! I'm ready t ackle it again! But guess what I'm going to try to help in doing this..this time? Jenny Craig! That is where I work now and my boss tells me that they have several clients who are gastric by pass patients. Some have regained all their weight (OMG!) and others like me, want to do something to derail that destructive path before it gets out of control. Sorry for all this rambling ..just wanted to let you know you're not alone!

Off topic question.  Did you or do you attend First Assembly in Greencastle? E

2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou has done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
