OT: my foster chihuahua
died in my husbands arms last night. she was a month old. it was horrible. she was doing so good, until about wed. then she slowly stopped eating. i had to work yesterday, and i could tell she was holding on, but i told her to leave if she needed to go to heaven, and i kissed her head then my husband held her and about 30 mins later she died.
i know it was for the best but it really hurts, i keep thinking i could have done more..

Oh Tish, I am so sorry for your loss. I do know how that feels. My 13 year old female calico cat Callie died in my arms last Sept 15th. She was very sick and I knew the end was coming but that still didn't make things any easier. I held her and told her that I loved her dearly and that it was ok for her to go if she had to. Right after that she breathed her last and went to heaven. I still think of her every day. Your right, it was for the best but that doesn't stop the pain. You are in my thoughts and prayers dear friend. It does get better. Judy
Tish,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know how hard losing an animal can be. We had to have my dog put to sleep while I was in college. When I went to French class we were learning all of the animals and the teacher asked if I had a dog. :o( I had to figure out how to say not anymore in french. I will keep your family and your furbaby in my thoughts and prayers.
