True..or you can take a look around places like Target, Meijor or Walmart and see what they have I can't remember what they were being called officially..but I've seen little tiny ..not too tiny though! plates that are pretty and would still be very functionable as a plate! When you get a chance..browse a little..Pier One Imports might be a good place to check as well..good luck..oh.and don't forget about your utensils..****til forks make great forks for us! Keep your eyes peeled for smaller sized spoons like from the baby department..even Walgreen's I got small kid sized spoons a pack of 10 for $2!! You might as well have a little fun with it because it will be work at first getting yourself adjusted..make that transiistion as smooth as possible for yourself.

Here's an idea for you: My daughter has a tea set ($5 at Dollar General Store) and the plates are perfect.  They're even pretty and china so it's not like eating off of kids plates.  Now the cups are a bit tiny... My best buddy sells tupperware and gave me some bowls that are the perfect size for my lunches.  They're the ones with the pop top so you can warm things in the microwave.  I think they're 8 oz bowls.  She also gave me some smaller ones that are about 4 ozs but they aren't for the microwave.  I put cottage cheese and stuff like that in them.  I'm sure you can find knock-off products like them at Walmart. Hope this helps and keep up the good work! Jacqui

I also have a tea set from Dollar General! My sis and mom had a "small portion" party for me before my surgery. All my relatives and some friends came...was toooooo much fun! I also got lots of baby plates and small bowls with lids from Walmart...those small utensils from cereal boxes...I have a SHREK bowl from Kelloggs and a honey bee spoon from General mills...LOL  They also got me pouch friendly food I could eat the first month.  It was GREAT!  Kinda like a "WLS baby shower"! huggggggggs Janene

Lord, keep me in your will so I won't be in your way.

Linda, I use the desert/bread plates also. I find that if I use the dinner plates I tend to eat to much because it is hard to judge things if I am in a situation that I can't measure. I eat my protein first and then the veggies and then if I have a starch that goes last. My doctor tries to tell us not to eat to many caarbs, good or bad. It is hard but I try not to eat them. They have a tendancy to make me want more. If I stay away from them I do better.
