Maybe because I am so  sick of this cold weather and it makes me feel happier to look towards spring..so in doing that I'm thinking about once the nicer weather hits what will I do for activity? I defintely plan to ride my bike perhaps with Eluca...and I like to walk. Is there anyone out there taking an exercise class that's been fun or interesting ...or one that you've tried before that you'd reccommend? Inexpensive is good! LOL I love jazzercise and I am going to give that a try again..my schedule has always gotten in the way in the past. But I wonder if I'm missing out on something  untapped..

A friend of mine is taking a zumba class which is Ladies Only..or whatever it's called now..she says it's fun. I don't want to get tangled up in a gym membership /contract. Cardinal Fitness is pretty basic..you get access to equipment and a locker I think..$20 a month..that might be worth looking into.

I was walking 1/2 mile every day but with the ice and coldness....I haven't done anything for days!  I really want to join a club or something but I'm afraid I won't go since I have to drive to Evansville or Owensboro, KY to go to one. I'm really wanting the weather to get warm so I can swim.  We have a pool and my daughter and I swim nearly every day when it's warm enough.  I can't wait until May to do something though.  If you come up with something, please...please....please post it. Hmmm..I have no idea where Rockport is or if it's real small etc..is it a small town? Are there any churches in your area that perhaps offers some type of exercise program..how about a Curves? I've never done Curves but you might find it enjoyable starting out..you're just 3-4 months out from your surgery? People warn though that you 'll quickly get bored with Curves...Sparkpeople has alot of great information on exercise and specific exercises. Not much help I'm sorry! I guess if you live in a small town..you're choices might be limited? I would though definitely suggest once the weather is really nice is to ride your bike along those quiet country rodes! That sounds really nice!

Thanks for the suggestions.  I live in a really, really small town...small county actually.  We only have 20,000 people in the whole dang county!  It's a farm community too so we don't have a lot of choices on anything...stores, restaurants.  Just not much of anything.  We have a church that opens its doors for people to walk in their gym but it's Upward Basketball season so it's full of practicing kids until March. I don't have a bike but that's a great idea.  I always loved riding bikes as a kid and even told my sweetie if he could get a tractor seat on one for me I'd ride one again.  Now that the ole behind is smaller maybe I could use a different kind of seat.  My birthday is next month so maybe that's what I'll ask for.

I would say when you get a chance..get a bike..especially considering how quiet your community sounds..I think you'd really enjoy the country roads on your bike and just enjoying the scenery around you. Good luck find some activities you enjoy..swimming is good..how about the high school do they offer anything to the general public..like allow you to use their workout room? Some high schools do stuff like that.

Right now I can't do much of anything but I really like the bicycles and treadmill at our gym. :) It's like an addiction but sadly I need to know my limits or else I'm gonna end up in the hospital especially with this asthma stuff sooo I've not been to the gym in too long. :(

Zumba classes are fantastic!! I went to one with my sister last fall at a local sports center, and loved it.  If you have a Y close by, check to see if they are offering Latin Nights, where you can try the class for $5 or so.  The Y here in Kokomo is doing that now, and the sports center where I tried the class offers a Zumba pass, it's $50 for 3 months or so.  Well worth it!!  I plan to ride my bike a lot this summer, and I'd love to get some roller skates for me and my girls (ages 4 & 5), since our neighborhood has great sidewalks and little traffic.  Last summer I rode my bike a lot...the library is a 3 1/2 mile round trip, my parents is 1 1/2 miles round trip, and my best friend is about a mile.  Hook a trailer on the back for the kids, and we're off!
