I know you are feeling horrible right now so I don't want to say anything that will make you feel worse, but you really need to stop smoking.  Smoking delays healing (including your ulcer healing) in addition to all the other bad effects of smoking.  I looked at your profile and noticed that you said you thought having this surgery was the easy answer.  Given that, if you still think that, I think you should have a revision.  WLS is never easy and you will be on a modified diet the rest of your life.  Unless you are completely committed to that, the healthiest choice for you would be revision.  Believe me, I understand slipping up--I slipped up last week by eating more food than I should have--so I know we all mess up.  But if you are doing this for the easy way out, I think you are setting yourself up for another failure with a new pouch. Good luck.

It sounds like you are having a really rough time--I know that when things go badly for me, I have a tough time completing just the usual everyday stuff, so I know it can be even harder to do all the "good for you" stuff we have to do with surgery.  Have you considered getting into counseling?  Maybe some parenting classes to learn techniques so you don't feel like you are being used as a rug?  Maybe counseling for your daughter so she understands the importance of taking her medicine?  Blaming yourself won't help at this point, but taking responsibility and making the needed changes will.  I hope you are able to change what you need to and find a solution to all the problems you are having.  Best wishes!

Have you tried the medication Chantix??  I smoked for 30 years and had tried everything...the patch, hynosis, the lozenge and gum.  None of it worked.  Within 2 weeks of starting this medication, I was a non smoker!  The man that invented it was a smoker and had quit.  He wanted something that would help people that had tried everything.  I quit in September, had my surgery in October and am still not smoking! Hope this helps....I know how hard it is to quit.  Good Luck! Robin
I always said "pigs would fly" before they approved my surgery.  Guess what??? The pigs are flying!!!!
