Bill's eye procedure went well today. He has a follow-up in the morning. We don't know if it was something good or something bad (and plan to ask tomorrow) but Dr. Price decided not to wait until April 9th for Bill's 2nd surgery. It will be next Tuesday instead. We're glad it was moved up...but we already had appointments made to have our 1st patient visit with a new family doctor on that date. Dr. Price's office won't let us know what time Bill's surgery is until Monday so at this point, we don't know if we are going to have to miss our family doctor appointments or not. I'm going to call them tomorrow though and ask them if they get a cancellation if they'd keep us in mind. I had called the family doctor we have been going to, to see if Bill could get a script of Actos for his diabetes. They refused to call in a script unless he makes an appointment with them...even if it means him running out of his Actos. And you know what she said? Well, he should have come in back in January. I asked her if she was aware that he was kinda tied up because of my medical issues (remember, this is MY family doctor too...well...until I can get in to see my new one & get things changed over so you'd think they would be at least a little bit understanding that it isn't so easy for Bill or for me to get around right now!). They did not care!  Bill had bloodwork drawn for them last week so it's not like they have no idea what's going on with him physically! And get this..they can't get him in until March anyway! So..I set up an appointment for March 10th...which I know Bill is hoping he doesn't have to keep...but by making it, hopefully, they will at least give him enough Actos to see him through till then! Gee..I wonder why I want a new doc, huh?? I had my follow-up mammograms today and they confirmed that it IS just calcium deposits. In fact, they are at skin level and not even into the breast tissue. So...Dr. Longmire-Cook is writing Dr. Bergman a note & letting her know that the girls are good to go whenever I'm ready to have them taken care of. That was a HUGE worry off the brain! I hope everyone has been having a good Tuesday! Sherri

Sherri....I know how frustrating it can be with doctors.  I had been going to my PCP for almost 20 years, and just recently changed to another doctor who lives closer to me.  My previous doctor and I had a personality clash, and I thought "enough is enough".  His attitude just rubbed me the wrong way, and I lost my faith in him as a compassionate doctor.  There were just too many bad incidents that went on while I was going to him for health care, and his nurse knew I was very upset with him.  I don't regret changing doctors, and wondered why I put up with his condescending attitude for so long.  The doctor I have now has the bed side manners of a caring and compassionate  person. I hope you and your DH can find a good doctor that both of you will be satisfied with. My thoughts and prayers are with both of you at this time.  Good luck to you both.    Susie

WoW about Bill not being able to get his medications til his appointment. My docs office has a policy that you have to be seen before they give you a refill for sleep aids, narcotics, anti depressants and stuff like that but Diabetes medication???? I'm so glad that your mammogram turned out good. :)
