TGIF!!!!!! I am so glad it is Friday.  Although I have to get up early in the morning to take my kids to a pancake breakfast they are helping with.  Other then that no big plans for the weekend.  Probably will go out to the inlaws tomorrow afternoon and I may go get my nails done either tonight or tomorrow.  I also need a haircut, so I will probably do that to. Hope everyone that is not feeling well gets well soon. Have a great weekend all

Good morning everyone! We are having a lazy day today. Woo-hoo! Hey, we all need one now & then! LOL! Tomorrow, I have to go get a blood test again (they are keeping a close eye on my white count this time around) & do a few other errands but today? Na-da! So..I think maybe we'll watch a Netflix or two. Sounds good to me! I hope everyone has a good day today. Don't get too worn out doing all that end of the week stuff that you're too tired out to enjoy the weekend! Sherri

Well good snowy day y`all! Yesterday I saw the regular Oncologist that did my hysto surgery and his assistant removed my super pubic cath. OUCH!!! So now I have this hole below my belly button to heal up. She did document my belly (excess skin) rolling over the incision and causing delay in healing and the extra measures I was doing to help it heal properly. I'll need that later for insurance to get my tummy tuck. Now I just have to make montly appointments with my PCP for the belly button smell (because it folds in on it's self) and how long it's taking my incision to heal. We also talked to the assistant about my chemo treatments. Apparently there was some miscommunication because I was suppose to have Dr Smith when I saw him Tuesday have him not only set up my radiation therapy but set up my chemo treatments here in Crawfordsville. So the assistant said she'd fix the problem and I should hear from the Crawfordsville office by next week to get my chemo schedule. So it's nice to know that I can do that locally and at the same time with my radiation. She did tell me though that I will loose my hair, so I need to find a wig to wear for the wedding. Otherwise I don't mind going bald and running around bald, hahah! We are going to Bloomington ILL for the weekend. Matt's family hasn't seen Quinntin yet so. It will be nice to go to a different enviroment for a change. I'd like to do as much as I can before it gets to the point where I can't. Hope everyone has a nice weekend!!! Jodi

Jodie, I just wanted you to know I have been praying for you and your family. I havn't been posting much lately (lurking if I get a chance).  I have been telling my family that I'm going to shave my head and start over LOL. The hair loss from WLS sucks when you don't have much to begin with! By  the way both my parents had chemo and neither one lost their hair. My dad even shaved his beard because he thought it would fall out. God Bless Cheryl

Good Morning all, TGIF !!  I can breathe a sigh of relief this morning after having my colonoscopy done yesterday, and getting a "thumbs up" on the results.  No polyps, no cancer, and everything looked normal.  Yay for me!  The doctor who did the scope wants me to come back in 5 years for another scope, because colon cancer runs in my family.  My older sister died two years ago from complications from colon cancer...she was 62.  She made me promise her that I would have a colonoscopy to rule out cancer, because it was too important not to have it done.  She didn't want me to go through what she had to endure because her's got out of control, and she paid for it with her life.   I urge anyone who hasn't yet, to get tested for colon cancer.  The "prep" part of it wasn't all that bad, and the scope was okay, too.  The doctor and nurses were so friendly and informative and made you feel very comfortable.  No pain at all (except for inserting the IV...I hate those).  Today I feel great, and just got a follow up call, from the hospital, wanting to know how I was feeling today. So caring! Just had to share my good news.  Now my husband and I have both been "scoped" and free from colon cancer.  Did I tell you that we do (almost) everything together??

I too am glad it's Friday.  I need to relax this weekend.  I spent most of yesterday at my parents' house.  Went to the doc yesterday morning and found out I have torn a muscle in my back.  I have to up my protein intake to help the muscle heal. I'm also putting heat on it.  It helps some but not a lot. My daughter is having a friend over tonight.  We're going to Fired Up to paint pottery.  It's a lot of fun.  Troy is on nights this week so he won't be joining us. Has anyone heard from Ellen?  I'm wondering how the twins are. Have a great weekend everyone. Jacqui

Jacqui, I talked with Ellen the other day. There's not alot to report on the twins. They are both still battling the RSV. They are at home though since their insurance coverage won't allow them to remain in the hospital right now. Ellen had been very busy last week. She is a retired florist and helps out at a friends' florist shop for major holidays. Naturally, Valentine's Day is a MAJOR flower day! The shop was very short-handed so it ended up being a huge stressful week. As if Ellen needed more stress in her life right now!  Please continue keeping Ellen & the twins in your prayers. Sherri

Poor Ellen.  Poor babies!

Thanks for the update Sherri.  I'll keep them covered in prayer.
