Dr. Inman pre-op diet?
I have my pre-op testing April 7 and my nutrition class April 8. Just wondering if Dr. Inman requires a pre-op liquid diet or a bowel prep or something else for lap RNY surgery. I know that I will be given this information at my class but was hoping someone might be able to tell me what their own experience was with her. If I am going to be on a liquid diet the two weeks prior to surgery, I want to be mentally prepared to handle it. Can anyone comment?
Thanks.
Marsha
I had the DS, and I didn't have a liquid diet. I *think* it's the same for all of Dr Inmans patients, no matter what surgery. Day before surgery you can have a full breakfast, lunch is soft foods, and dinner is clear liquids.
I had a huge steak and egg breakfast
KFC Mashed taters and gravy for lunch
Jello and broth for supper.
Cheers!
I was told to curb the carbs for two weeks prior to surgery to help shrink my liver. This is just a precaution to lessen your chances of going from a lap procedure to open. Then I followed the same "diet" that Sally did.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
