Fellow Elfsters....
Sherri,
You are the BOMB! I love doing things like this. I've always been a gift giver. My hubby sometimes hates that about me. I hate it that we have to change our person though. I love the gal I'm buying for! Oh well...it was going to be hard for me to keep it a secret anyway.
I haven't received anything from my Elf yet so it will probably be nice to be on the recieving end as well.
Sherri, you have done a great job. I'm so glad you are in Indiana so we can have you all to ourselves!

Misty,
You bring up a good point for all those lurking participators. It is SO much more fun when you are able to get to know the person. If it's someone you've never met, I think you become more attentive to their avatar popping up on a thread so that you can get to know that person a little better. If you're fortunate enough to be able to meet the person during the time that you have their name, I think that meeting is even more special. It's not a rule that to participate in the angel program that you must be an active poster...afterall, things happen...and who is to judge what is 'active enough'?. Look at the month of October, I barely posted at all (of course, I was in a coma for 9 days and then in ICU for a few more so it would have been a real miracle for ME to have posted during then!..LOL!). When I go back to work, I'm not going to be able to post as much...and next week, you probably won't see me much at all.
So...while it isn't a 'rule', I would like to encourage ALL lurkers..NOT just those who participate in the Elfster program...to post! Let us get to know you as you've been able to get to know us. There was a country song of the ~70's that said 'to know me is to love me'. Let us love you! Because as that same song says 'we're doing the best that we can'! (The song is called 'Oh Lord it's Hard To Be Humble'. ..for those familiar with the tune, check out my ps..lol).
Sherri
ps.....I use to sing my own version of this song back then...and yes, I am the author..lol! I was going through a financial hard time...as most young people do. My reference to the mailman was due to him bringing me bills every day. It's funny...I could pretty much sing those same words today but it be for the medical stuff instead..lol! So for those of you that remember the tune, here's the words I gave the song:
Oh Lord, it's hard to be Happy,
When trouble keeps coming my way!
Everytime I look in the mirror,
I gotta wonder what's going to happen today!
Everybody knows me,
But not as the well as the mailman.
Oh Lord, it's hard to be Happy,
But I'm doing the best that I can!

pss..Have you guys noticed how silly this site has gotten when it comes to trying to keep out naughty words? I had originally put 'for those of you who' instead of 'that' before remember in the ps. Their anti-cussing put together 'who' with the first two letters of remember and gave me * instead! It's just like how I could write that the hemophilia center needs to document the coumadin reducing my wbc...yep, I have *** instead when all I'm trying to say is they need the paper-trail! You can't put 'accumulate' insead of 'gather' either! It's funny anymore to try to figure out what common, non-naughty word the author of a post is trying to use!!! LOL!
