Welcome to the board! There are a lot of people here to encourage you and help you through the process. Fortunately, my insurance did cover mine. The total cost billed to them was $39,000. Knowing what I do now, I encourage you to investigate everything you can. This surgery has been life saving and life changing for me. I no longer have diabetes, no sleep apnea, no high blood pressure. I don't have to take hormone replacements because my ovaries have decided to start functioning again (no uterus though so no babies in the future). It has been worth every penny even though I didn't have to spend much.
One way to look at this is...it's an investment in your future and your health. Some people spend $40K on a vehicle. The surgery is a much better investment if you ask me. Just my .02 Good luck! Jacqui

Hi My insuranse said our employer excluded this from coverage. I self paid at ST. VINCENT hospital at Carmel IN. My doctor is DR. HUSE. I paid his fee up front was $ 5,000 plus $225. consult fee at the beginning. I also paid the hospital $ 20,000 bringing the total to $25,225..This is everything unless there is complications and require more than a two day stay. My surgery is in two weeks. Good Luck to you Dave
