Good morning everyone! Bill's eye surgery went fine yesterday. He has his follow-up today. That will really tell how well it went. Hopefully, we'll get more details as well. You know how when a loved one has surgery, the surgeon comes out & talks to you? Well, they don't do that at Dr. Price's. He just goes on to the next patient...and the next..etc. So I never talked with him at all yesterday so since nothing was said to the contrary, we are assuming things went fine. Bill hasn't been in any pain to speak of (nothing that a few tylenol didn't take care of). He has a metal sheild on his eye so of course, vision is lousy through that anyhow. He gets it off this morning at the follow-up. You know the plumbing we had done Monday? Well...I went to take my shower Tuesday night and Bill noticed that we now have a leak behind the bathroom wall (goes into the furnace/ho****er heater room). So...Bill has to sit at home this afternoon and wait for the plumber to come back and repair whatever it is that he messed up on Monday because we didn't have any leaks there before he came. Which means...I'll be having my follow-up cbc, the doppler, and the CT scans done this afternoon by myself. I'm ok with that. I know Bill was planning on coming with me but they would have made his stay in the waiting room anyway. I have to report in for the scans at 3:30...and they start at 4:30. I have to go get the cbc pulled before that so as soon as we get home, I'll probably drop Bill off, go have the blood drawn, and then go back to the house until it's closer to 3:30. I can't have anything bu****er after noon, so I'm going to talk Bill into us going to the Paradise Cafe on Meridian after we leave Dr. Price's (if it's after 10:30 anyway...I doubt they'd have lunch stuff ready too early in the day! LOL!). I do love their roasted tomato soup! Say a little prayer for me with these tests...please. I'm praying that the cbc is improved AND that the spleen is normal. If the cbc isn't improved and the spleen is normal, I'll have to go through the bone marrow testing. If the spleen isn't normal, it probably depends on what is abnormal and what is causing that abnormaly as to what will have to happen next with that. If the cbc is improved though, it will indicate that the Arixtra (blood thinner) was the cause of it decreasing...so simple solution, keep me off the Arixtra. If the white count isn't high enough for surgery Monday, they do plan to give me an injection that they usually give to post-chemo patients to get their white counts up. That is suppose to work fast enough that they'll be ok by Monday. We're also hoping to see with the doppler that the blood clots in my leg & lung (from October) are both gone. What a nerve wrecking time it is going to be waiting on those test results! I hope everyone has a good day today.  Sherri

Prayers going your way, Sherri! I had a BAD day yesterday. Work was awful. I got raked over the coals by my supervisor. I spent a couple of sessions in the bathroom crying. I felt like about the worst employee ever. Eventually I couldn't tolerate the bad feelings anymore, and I coped in my own, bad ways. What an awful day.  I am telling myself today is a new day, with a fresh start. It's going to be a better day. It will have to be. Any day I get to get my hair done is always better.  PS. Thanks for the card Gail. Are you psychic that I needed that?!?!!? Thanks.

Good morning all.  Today, I decided to play hookie from work! LOL  It is for a good reason tho.  This afternoon is Mariah's class musical.  Due to the snow days, they had to change the date to today.  I wasn't able to take the day off, sicne there was no time to put in for it, so I decided to call in to be able to attend.  I haven't called in in quite some time, so I don't have to worry about that.  I know that everyone at work has the flu as it is, and I have had a headache all morning, so I am not exactly exaggerating that I am not feeling well. Its all for Mariah tho, so I don't care, what ever is for my girls, thats all that matters! Hope everyone has a great day today!  I have tons of errands to take care of this morning.  Take care and have a great one!
At Goal! 165 pounds gone forever! Thank you Lord!

Hello All, I can't get over how early so many of you get up & on the computer!  I was up at 5:30, but would not consider myself coherent enough to attempt typing even if I didn't live in the black hole of internet! Unfortunately, we can't get DSL and cable or satillite access is just too expensive for recreational use.  If my husband ever starts up that internet business he keeps talking about, that would be a different story!   Consequently, I never get online until after I get to work and then it is sometimes late afternoon before I actually make it on the board.  Sherri, you've got mail.  I hope all of your tests go well today. For those of you not feeling well, I hope things turn around soon. Lachelle, I can sympathize with the headache.  I've been having a lot of them lately.  I thought it was my blood pressure, but now I think it may be the weather.  I'm planning on going to the Clarian cooking class this evening.  I haven't made it to a support group in about 6 weeks, so I'm looking forward to tonight.  Plus, Anessa always has the greatest recipes.  Speaking of which, if any of you have been having cravings for something crunchy & salty (like me! ) I have just the thing: Homemade croutons made with TVP chunks (available at the Georgetown Market I know and I'm sure you can find them other places as well).   For those of you not familiar with it, TVP stands for texturized vegetable protein (defatted and dehydrated soy protein) and it comes in granules (looks kind of like granola) or chunks (about the same shape & size as croutons).  You can use them in place of meat when rehydrated.  I have used the granules in chili and soups and it has the same texture as ground beef.   Anyway, back to the recipe.  It is really easy: Put the TVP chunks in a bowl and spray with cooking spray (flavor of choice, I've used olive oil and butter flavor and I'm going to try out the garlic flavor I have up in the cabinet next time).  Sprinkle on your favorite seasoning mix (I've used seasoned salt one time and italian seasoning another)  you will want to add a little table salt if your seasoning mix doesn't have salt in it.  Spray again with the cooking spray and toss around the bowl a few times.  Spread them in a single layer on a cookie sheet, pop in the oven at 325 degrees for just 6 minutes and let cool.   They are easy to take along in a baggie or plastic container and when everyone around me is munching on potato chips and pretzels I pull out these tasty treats and munch away.  They are also terrific on salads or in soups.  They are high protein and fiber with virtually no fat and low calorie.  This is just one of the many recipes that I have gotten at the Clarian cooking classes.  Anessa has done everything from dinner entrees to snacks for your super bowl party to desserts for that special dinner.  I hope you enjoy the croutons! Have a great day.

Good Morning All, I spent all morning up at Clarian Bariatrics. I had a nutrition visit with Ruthanne and a Psych. Eval. So it is official I am Certified Looney.LOL She says everything looks great and that I have all my ducks in a row, I am so worried I will not approved, she says she is pretty sure they will, that is how thorough I have been. SHe would be shocked if they didn't approve me. She is a little worry that I am too hard on myself when I slip up and is a little concerned that I might become obbessed with losing weight. (WHO ME?,never)She let me know that I can call up there and talk to Nessa or Ruthanne anytime for support. God I love them up there! Next up on my plate...Last Pcp visit and Dr MAttar on the 4th of March. SHerri...Prayers that everything is ok for the surgery...I am sure .BTW can you repost the info about the ecards and the account for the elves, I misplace the info. Thanks Linda- Seems to me that your boss is always yelling about something, Sounds like to me they do not know how to talk to someone about there job. They need some mangement classes. I can talk to my employees about there preformances and not berate them! Gail..I don't think I recieved a [email protected]. For next time. :) Gotta get to work. Later Shanna
