I am so sorry to hear that.  It bums me out when I hear companies opting out of coverage.  Hang in there!!

Do you have a Starbucks near you? I heard that they will cover WLS and you can get their insurance just working like 20 hours a week. This seems to be the suggestion on the main board for folks who insurance won't cover it. I don't know if it's an option for you btu maybe?

Linda, I am so very sorry, I know you are ready. It really upsets me when this happens. I was at PCP a not so nice man over heard me talking to a nurse about my surgery, I and over weight people were the reason his insurance was so much$$$. The nurse told him a month full. He didn't even stay to make another appt. just looked at me and left. Lets get Jacqui on it we will go protest  Linda don't give up. Love ya. Hugs & Blessings, Gail Apology 2

I was just thinking what Misty brought up..getting a job with benefits so you can try it again..however calling the insurance company certainly won't hurt would it? You may find that they'll come back with the supervised diet plan option etc..best of luck to you..I can only begin to understand the level of frustration you must be feeling. Especially being your second go around..so sorry!

Linda, Sorry that your insurance doesn't cover WLS. It's good that you are considering other options though. It never hurts to try, but I would guess that your best alternative would be to get a job that does cover it. The policy your husband has is the one his company approved...and financially, it wouldn't be a good move for the insurance company to bend the rule for you since his company isn't paying any $ to them to cover WLS. just don't get your hopes up too high...k? I didn't know Starbucks covered WLS. They should...as many of us who end up hooked on 'skinny Latte's' post-op! LOL! The Java City at work considers mine the 'what's the use' drink! LOL! Since having all my stuff in October, my taste buds had turned against coffee. I'm hoping to be able to enjoy it again after Monday's surgery! (With each surgery since my RNY, my taste buds decides to like or not like something!) I get a Grande Decaf Latte made with skim milk & sugar-free vanilla! Now you have MY order should you get hired on..huh? LOL! Just go to whatever one is the closest to Raymond & Harding and you'll see me often! LOL! Keep your chin up. One door doesn't close unless another one opens! Sherri
