8 Hours - OUCH!

Well, my first chemo was an experience. I blew two viens. The Hemo/Onocology lab was full so I had to wait 45 mins for a needle change each time. Finally on vien number 3 I was able to get everything in. Took a short shy of 8 hours. What a day!!! But now that we know where to find a stale vein they said I would be looking at 4 hrs each Monday. I have to start taking my anti-nausea meds at 7 pm tonight. The bag of magnesium gave me such a headache and I can't take tylenol. Meet a few women that came in for iron packs due to complications from RNY's. Infact I meet a lot of really nice people for the whole 8 hours I was there, hahahahahahahahahaha!!! Tomorrow I doubt I'll post - the doctor has advised me that my extreme nasuea should hit me around 7 or 8 pm tonight and won't let up till late Wednesday or mid Thursday, so it looks like I'll be hanging out with the porcelain god in the nearby throne room. Everyone have a safe week. Be thankful. Jodi

Yep, when I was 8 weeks pregnant with Quinntin I was diagnosised with possible cervical cancer. Of course, they couldn't do anything while I was pregnant. During my six weeks check up after having him (had in late September check up was in November) my pap came back again abnormal (like we knew it was going to). This time they were able to do the biopsy because I was no longer pregnant and so it was finally safe to do so. Came back confirmed Stage 2 Cervical Cancer. Had a radical hystorectomy with also removal of my ovaries (diagnosised PCOS and one ovthemwasn't working anyways, so what the heck take them out). Found out during surgery that the so called "possiblity of removing "some" extra tissue was.... way way lot tissue. Tissue down into my vagina was removed. Tissue from my uterine cavity to my bladder was removed. They had to repositition my bladder and put it into a sling causing me to have to have a super pubic catheter for about 3 weeks. I'm now learning how to use new muscles to learn how to pee again. Some days it's a really hard concentrative struggle, hahahaha! Pathology said abdomnal lymphnodes were clear - no posibility of it spreading there or it being lymphantic cancer. However, cervical lymphnode was way bad with cancer. That and the amount of tissue they had to remove has lead my Oncologist to unoffical say I more then likely had Stage 3 undetected Uterine Cancer. So now I'm doing 25 external radiation treatments and six weeks of chemo treatments. Then followed up with three weeks of three day in hospital stays to do internal radiation. But I'm doing good. The cancer was succesfully removed during surgery so I'm just doing all this other stuff to remove ANY chances of every of cancer in that area again.

JO, I will also keep praying for you.  When my dad is taking his chemo they simotaineously give him something for nausea IV and it seems to have helped.  Cancer stinks,  I think we should make up shirts that say "I HATE CANCER". Good luck, and will continue to think about you and pray, Sarah

There's a website called Cancer Hope that sells T-shirts, mugs, and what not with the "CANCER SUCKS" on them. I got me an angel pin and necklace to wear showing I survived Uterine/Cervical Cancer. Thanks for the warm thoughts and prayers. Jodi
