Well, after 2 weeks of Pancreatitis and 3 weeks after admission to the hospital, I am doing great..BUT- I have gained 5 pounds.  Getting back on track has been so difficult, no energy, hungry every minute of the day because Dr. emptied my band completely due to my illness.  I feel horrible and so down on myself. Go in for a fill today.  I don't even want to go to the Dr. for I am so humiliated.  What will he say?  Cabin fever has notn helped this whole situation any either.   Has anyone had any experience similar to mine?  Oh help me.

Don't be so hard on yourself!  No one wants to gain ANY weight back, but you've been sick.  They emptied your band.  There are a lot of extenuating cir****tances.  You will go in for your fill and get back on track.  We all have our "backslides".  Every one of us has faced or will face a similar situation.  This is a life time process.  We will fight our heads for the rest of our lives.  And life will interfere with our best laid plans.  We just have to get back on our road to success one step at a time.  You can do it and you can always come here for support.  And if your doctor is worth his salt, he will not berate you, he will offer you the support you need to step back on the road for your journey. Take heart.  Yesterday is history, tomorrow only a promise, so enjoy today for the gift that it is.

Thanks Cindy.  I really thought I would be the only one with this weight gain problem  Probably nothing that I can do about the low self esteem but I do feel better.  I just hope my Doc doesnt get angry.  I am not good at failing at anything.  If I know that I cannot do something well, I dont do it!  Pretty pathetic huh?  But....Thanks again for your thoughtful comments and advise. Hi there,   Ditto to all Cindy has said! I also have had a rough winter, but know that it is just a bump in the road. Remember to give yourself a break, love yourslef for who you are. YOU are not a number on a scale- you are a very special person!    Many of us have traveled the same road, you aren't alone. Isolating oursleves makes it worse. Hopefully you will come away from your Drs. appt. with a renewed sense of purpose. The "old stinking thinking" loves to mess with our heads and fill us with fear.  Winter is almost over, and tomorrow is another day. Write positive sayings down, put them on your mirrors, in your car, by your bed, & read them daily. It does help to chase away those negative thoughts!  Keep posting and in touch, it helps! Vent, cry, laugh, whatever makes you feel better, but eat, and know we care!!! I am sending you ((((((((((((((((((((gentle loving hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))) Ellen

Thanks to much Ellen.  You are a sweetie.  Just got back from doctors apt and he wasnt at all disappointed in me!  What a relief!  I feel better now.  God, I hate failing especially when others know it also.  I actually only gained 1 pound so it wasnt  as bad as I thought.  I now have 1.4 cc in my band so I should be on my way.  Thanks again for the words of encouragement.  Jen

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself. Look at the cir****tances. Pancreatitis is serious stuff. Better to gain 5 pounds and be healthy than the other choices, right? You can go in and get your fill and I'll bet dollars that your loss will start back up again, and those five pounds will be history. You will make it through this.

Thanks Linda. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.  I am only up 1 pound and doc wasnt at all discouraged in me.  Tomorrow is another day and hopefully I can begin it with a better attitude.  Thanks again for the support.  I don't get to the msg. boards often enough. Jen
