Dr Evanson Pre op diet??

Hi , My surgery date for my RNY is 4-24-08. I am not made of money and I'm tring to stock up on pre op and post op food. I'm a single mom with 2 kids. I was just wondering if he ( Dr Evanson) requires a liquid diet for pre op? I have my nut class 3 weeks before surgery. If any one can tell me anything I'd be grateful.

Unless Dr. Evanson has changed things, no he will not have you do the liquid diet.   Lisa B

I don't think any of the St. V's surgeons require a preop diet except for the day before and thats a light breakfast, full liquid lunch and clear liquid dinner.

Certainly you don't need to stock up.  It takes 1 week to eat a can of Cream of Chicken soup at 2 ounces a meal.  A small box of Instant potato will last forever.  A small cottage cheese goes out of date by a week before you can fini****    Your taste will change so don't buy protein supplement now you may not like them later. Good advice from eluca, don't stock up! I bought different things from the Yellow Sheets (which you will get at your class) to try, but didn't try half of them. Besides, your tastes might change post-op. I could not tolerate even watered down juices immediately after postop... far too sweet.

Definitely don't stock up...my dad warned me against that.  I have my surgery with Dr Evanson 4/2, and my nutrition class is next Tuesday, so I'll get my yellow sheets and day-before liquid diet info then.  My dad did tell me that if I found stuff like sugar free jello on sale, buy a couple of those, and I always have instant potato flakes, chicken broth and beef bullion cubes in my pantry.
