What is NEXT? WHat do I do now?

Ok, So I met with Dr Mattar yesterday. I am done with my 6 months....I can't believe I can say that!They are scheduling me this week for pre-op testing. My question is when do they submit to Insurance. AFter I have pre-op testing done or while I am waiting? or what? This is Clarian.When should I start calling to check if I was approved....I am so nervous I just don't know what to do....Shanna

Shanna, I have Sagamore Insurance and had to submit my paperwork to my insurance company before the pre-op testing.   When I sent everything in, I made sure that I had copied it and sent it Priority Mail.  They approved it within a week and then faxed the info to the Dr's office. Thanks I have Anthem. I believe Clarian will submit all the paperwork. I gave them everything I could. (i mean everything) The Dr. and Nurses couldn't believe how much I had...I have all my ducks in a row my Nut said.I just know when they are submitting? Thanks SHanna

Hi , my daughter tiffany is going thur them too we have athem also.,.Mattar did her preopp testing and all. they turned everthing over to athem and athem recived it onthe 18th and last friday they asked for his id number and how much the surgery is...so laverne at claren called them on that...she says she calls them weekly..can take 15 to 30 days   I know mattar is doing surgery this month and in may ,In aprill He will be on vacation...you can call clarien at 2757010 and talk to laverne ..she does all the insurance..real nice...My cosin was approved  and they called him this past monday and had him go to preopp class yesterday and his surgery will be march 19 with mattar so they do work fast when they get every thing....take care it goes quick

I do beleive they will submit the paperwork as soon as you are done with the 6 mo weight loss classes. The pre-op is just to make sure you can tolerate the surgery but I don't beleive it is soemthing the ins comp needs to qualify you per their guidelines. I had Anthem and I had a lot of my testing done during my 6 mo classes so when I was done they just had to submit. I actually called Anthem and started the process over the phone. I was lucky. The policy I have they did everything over the phone and I had the approval in a week and had my surgery scheduled 3 weeks later. To know for sure, I would just call the person at Clarian who does the insurance (I always spoke to Dan) and ask them.

I have Anthem and went thru St V's and I had to wait on insurance approval before they would schedule my preop testing and 6 hr nut class.  Congrats on being done with your 6 mos. diet.
